Thanks, Seonaid. I’m not sure that he did manage to get it down his throat. He was really struggling for ages and might have given up. I once saw him with a really big fish, and he put it down for a few seconds to get a better angle, but an eagle flew in and scooped it up. 🙂
Thanks, Cindy. I’m not too sure if he managed it. He did try every which way to get it down, but I saw him drop it back in the water at one point. 😦
Wow, that is a good fisherman … fish bigger than him .. could do a diner for a family of 4. Fantastic shot.
Thanks, Viveka. Yes, he wasn’t going to starve that day. 🙂
Good one!! 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
Stunning capture! Isn’t this the guy who almost choked on his lunch a while ago? 🙂
The very same, Madhu. 🙂 He really goes for the big ones.
what a stunner of a shot
Thanks, Jo. btw….Where are you? Missing you and hoping all is well with you. xx
Have a few things on and just needed a complete break from the blogging world. Will be back I promise.
We did both have a fishy day…but ohh so different. I adore your photo!
Thanks. Cee. 😉
What a superb shot.
I was going to say you lucky fish, but this might be in bad taste…all thongs considered.
Ooops….lol. All things, as well.
What a giggle! 😆
Thanks, Ark………I thonk. 🙂
We are not as thonk as you drink we are.
I have borrowed you Heron shot as a header for a bit. It is such a great shot.
Photo credit noted, of course. Hope you don’t mind?
Be my guest. I’m really pleased for you to give him an airing on your blog. 🙂
Fantastic shot this Sylvia 🙂
Thanks, Sherri. 🙂
Awesome capture! Your timing was perfect. 🙂
Thanks, Jackie. I was so lucky. 🙂
Maybe he should have been born a pig?
😀
The perfect time, you’ve lucky @Sylvia 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
I think you’ve outdone Phil with this one. What an enormous catch. I think he might have choked on that one.
Thanks so much, Gunta. 🙂
That photo is outstanding!
Thanks, Sue. 🙂
Gives new meaning to the phrase, “biting off more than you can chew.” You have the nicest neighbours.
Yes it does, Rebecca. I’m really going to miss my gorgeous neighbours when we leave here.
Morning Sylvia, 🙂
That was so sweet. Hope you have a great week, hugs Paula xxxx
Good morning to you, Paula. here are your hugs and love for the day. *HUGS* ♥ ♥ ♥ 🙂
Your so special, thank you. xxx
you need to hire that bird as a personal fishing bird…fire up the grill!!
Hahaha. He’s quite the expert. 🙂

Absolutely the case, Heather. 🙂
Wow! What a catch! Great shot Sylvia of this serious hunter!
Thanks, Phil. 🙂
Wow, what an incredible capture…..lovely light and colours….did he manage to eat all that?
Thanks, Seonaid. I’m not sure that he did manage to get it down his throat. He was really struggling for ages and might have given up. I once saw him with a really big fish, and he put it down for a few seconds to get a better angle, but an eagle flew in and scooped it up. 🙂
Yikes! I’d love to eat that fish for dinner 😀
Looks like it could feed the family. 🙂
Great shot!
Thanks, David. 😉
Could be why he is silent 🙂
Hahaha. True. 🙂

splendido scatto!
that enormous fish is procured! It will make a nice lunch!
beautiful shot!
Thanks, Ventis. It will certainly fill his tummy for a while. 🙂
Whoa!! Did he manage to eat this??? Fabulous shot!
Thanks, Cindy. I’m not too sure if he managed it. He did try every which way to get it down, but I saw him drop it back in the water at one point. 😦
I like Col’s comment and certainly agree
😀
Wow, awesome pic!
Thanks so much. 🙂
Gee wizz that’s a big one.
A bit too big, I think. 🙂
They still manage to swallow those big ones!
No fish stories from him … he really caught it.
Nice capture …
Thanks, Issy. He really has his mouth too full to be telling stories. 🙂
‘Wow! I actually caught it!
Uh … now what?’
Exactly! Nice caption, Col. 🙂
Wonderful and beautiful photo! What a great catch for this Great Blue!
Thanks, Sheila. The biggest fish I ever saw him with. 🙂
That is a big meal! Looks like me when starving. Happy Sunday!
Thanks so much. You too. 🙂
A case of biting off more than you can chew…
You could say that, bulldog, but not with a mouthful of fish. 🙂
What a great capture, Sylvia. You must have gotten really close because the picture is so clear. Either that, or you have a great telephoto lens. 🙂
Thanks, Cathy. Not very close at all, but our camera has a built-in telephoto lens which works rather well. 🙂
Well, it turned out beautifully. 🙂
Now THAT is good lunch lol 😉
Yes, he just needs some fries to go with the fish. 😀
Maybe even some alt ‘n vinegar to go with it then 😉
😆
Great shot! One day I watched a Great Blue Heron catch, drown, and eat a rat! I have no idea how it got that fat rat down its gullet.
Oh, yuck! That must have been quite a sight to behold. 😯
sushi!!! great grab … er, grub, and great photo!
Hahaha. He just needs some ginger and soya sauce. 🙂
Was this at your place? That fish would have made a few good meals for me.
Yes, just across the lake from me. A very good meal indeed. 🙂
