A friendly skirmish on the Chinese Rug, for Michelle’s Pet Challenge

After Sunday lunch at MiL’s house in England last week, little Pippa decided she wasn’t getting nearly enough attention, so decided to do her ‘Whirling Dervish’ act in the middle of the rug.

This display alerted Lucca, who rushed in to watch the spectacle. She got jealous of Pippa being the centre of attraction, so challenged her to a fight. “Okay, you’re on,” said her little sister.

Then the fun began, as they tussled and tangled in the most friendly manner.

The action was fast and furious, and it was hard to tell who was winning, but Pippa is a very brave little dog who really believes that size doesn’t count.

After a while they both got bored and decided to call it a day. Pippa thought the birds on the feeder outside were far more interesting, and Lucca went off to chase squirrels in the back garden.

  1. Oh how cute is this? Darling! We had a black lab/collie called Bonnie who used to do a ‘whirling girlish’ when the mood took her, it was hilarious! I love how these two interact and the photo of Pippa looking out of the window is priceless. Lovely, thanks Sylvia for the happy pet smiles πŸ™‚

  2. I love watching dog plays. There’s several here in the park that are just adorable….. makes me miss my little dog. Oh well, as long as we’ll be traveling a lot, I’ll just need to get my doggie fix from others including great pics like these.

  4. Someday my Sissy will grow up to be just like Lucca… only I think she has the same attitude that size doesn’t count! πŸ™‚ What a fun post! πŸ™‚

  5. queste immagini sono veramente incantevoli, complimenti anche per la scelta dei cani completamente opposti, ma ugualmente tanto gioiosi!
    felice giorno

These images are really beautiful, congratulations on your choice of dogs completely opposites, but equally so joyful!

  6. Pets provide such entertainment, don’t they? My dog and cat have a love-hate relationship that constantly keeps us amused. The dog is scared of the 16-year-old declawed cat and she knows it, so she scares him whenever she has the chance.

  7. Always such fun to see a ‘little one’ almost seem to get the upper hand Sylvia …
    I guess that’s life too sometimes πŸ˜‰
    Lovely playfulness captured !

  8. Sylvia, great shots of a great dog day .. what a dog life. Sometimes I wish I was a dog or cat .. *smile – no worries. One photo is not opening up properly, but there when clicking on it. It’s one of playful ones. Lovely post.
