Let Me Serenade You, for Jake’s Challenge

Jake’s Sunday Post Challenge this week is ‘With Musical Instrument’. Being a musician myself, I really admire people who use their musical ability to entertain others. From experience, I know that it can take a lot of courage to actually perform in front of total strangers, but once one gets past the nerves, the performer can enjoy it, as much as the audience.

These song lyrics from the 1960’s American rock band ‘Three Dog Night’, came into my head whilst I was looking for photos of musicians who have serenaded me on my travels.

Let Me Serenade You

I will serenade you, all along the way
I will serenade you, anyway you say

Take you to the country, I’ll take you to the shore
Show you to my garden, I know you’ll make it grow.

If you let me serenade you
You know that’s what you come for,
So that I will serenade you

Can’t hold back the joy

  1. A great post. Much like you, I really do enjoy listening to a live performance, whether on stage or the street. Music makes our World so much more enjoyable.

  2. I would so love to hear you play Sylvia. I love piano music – oh, all kinds of music but piano is my favourite. Remember Richard Clayderman. I am sure you are just as great as he is on the piano. Great photo’s. 😀

  3. Ah, the music – I hear it through the wires.

  4. Somehow I think I would find your piano playing the most melodic Sylvia !
You ‘re amazing …never stuck for a challenge … fantastic to have so many musical memories 🙂

  5. You have so many wonderful photos, Sylvia. You can never forget your those good times you’ve had on vacation. XD
I love the belly dancers clothes. She must have done a fabulous performance.
You look adorable sitting with the piano. I would love to hear you play. The people must sit and smile as you play each song. Your next project should you choose to accept it is to create a video of you playing and post it. You have lots ot time … not. hehehe Great job !!!!

    • Thanks so much, Issy. Yes, I love looking through my photos and reliving the wonderful vacations we’ve had. Actually my next project, and one i should really be getting on with instead of sitting blogging, is packing up my house. Quite a daunting task, so I keep putting off the awful moment.

    • I can imagine it would be very emotive in Scottish surroundings. I once had to play the organ for a wedding, and the bagpiper stood right next to me. The sound was rather ear-shattering up close. 🙂

pity no pics from Italy … I would have gladly seen a mandolin played against the backdrop of Mount Vesuvius in Naples … I hope it will be for next time! The photos are very beautiful, and your love and knowledge of music I had guessed from the comments to sundtrak by me in my posts!

    🙂
