Floral Friday: A Glamorous Epiphyte

Last Saturday we met some really special friends for breakfast at the Makaranga Lodge up in Kloof. The gardens, where I photographed the amazing ‘Soul Mates’ sculpture for my Silent Sunday’s post, are so beautiful. This orchid growing on the trunk of a Coral tree, just caught my eye, and I had to snap the memory.

Wishing you all a very happy weekend.

  1. Beautiful. All our native orchids are blooming here too……they just appear magically on tree fern trunks in our garden and live for decades without any attention or care.

  2. That is beautiful. I always thought Orchids were difficult to grow, needing a specific controlled environment, and lo and behold there is this beauty out in the elements.

  3. What I love so much about your blog Sylvia is that I know I will so often find the unusual, the colourful and the absolutely beautiful in the most unexpected of places, and this orchid growing out of a coral tree is no exception. Beautiful photograph. This post brings sunshine and smiles to my heart. Have a wonderful weekend my friend πŸ™‚ xx
