Last Saturday we met some really special friends for breakfast at the Makaranga Lodge up in Kloof. The gardens, where I photographed the amazing ‘Soul Mates’ sculpture for my Silent Sunday’s post, are so beautiful. This orchid growing on the trunk of a Coral tree, just caught my eye, and I had to snap the memory.
Wishing you all a very happy weekend.
So many orchid blooms on one spot. Ahhhhhhh
Yes, they really waved to me, Paula. 🙂
Gorgeous! Orchids are clearly one of my favourite flowers. In nature – so impressive.
Thanks so much. I do love to see them growing wild. 🙂
Beautiful. All our native orchids are blooming here too……they just appear magically on tree fern trunks in our garden and live for decades without any attention or care.
Thanks, GOF. I love to see wild orchids. Can’t wait to get back to Florida to see how mine are doing, after 6 months of neglect.
This is beautiful, Sylvia! Happy Sunday! 🙂
Thanks so much, Linda. 🙂
Majestic!!!
Thank you. 🙂
😀
What a beauty! Happy weekend, Ad 🙂
Thanks, Jo. The weekend is going very well. 🙂 xx
That is beautiful. I always thought Orchids were difficult to grow, needing a specific controlled environment, and lo and behold there is this beauty out in the elements.
Thanks, Ruth. No, orchids are relatively easy to grow, and so rewarding. 🙂
So very beautiful Sylvia! A wonderful weekend to you too 🙂
Thanks so much, Madhu. xx
That’s gorgeous. More orchids to photograph in Florida!
Thanks so much, Carol. Yes, I’m hoping our orchids are doing well over there. 🙂
What I love so much about your blog Sylvia is that I know I will so often find the unusual, the colourful and the absolutely beautiful in the most unexpected of places, and this orchid growing out of a coral tree is no exception. Beautiful photograph. This post brings sunshine and smiles to my heart. Have a wonderful weekend my friend 🙂 xx
What a lovely comment, Sherri! Sunshine and smiles are always good, aren’t they? 🙂 Love and hugs to you. xx♥ ♥xx
Yes they are and I mean every word Sylvia. Love and hugs right back to you too 🙂 ❤ xx
Indeed, glamorous! Thank you, Sylvia!
So glad you enjoyed this photo, Dana. 🙂
What a beautiful orchid and something special indeed Sylvia! 😀
♥ Hugs ♥
Thanks, Sonel. *hugs* 🙂
Happy weekend to you as well 🙂
Thanks, Tandy. 🙂 xx
How beautiful and unusual. Just seeing an orchid is unusual for us! 🙂
Thanks, Marsha. Orchids are one of my favourite flowers, but I haven’t seen many growing out in the garden here. This one really waved to me. 🙂
How could it resist you? 🙂
The blending and harmony of the coral tree and the orchid created something beautiful and amazing. Soul mates indeed! Have a wonderful weekend and all the best to you and your family.
Thanks so much, IT. Yes, they do blend together beautifully. 🙂
Happy weekend to you too. I think this is a good way to have orchid.
I agree, YC. Outside in the garden is much better than inside in a pot. 🙂
Always something to see, there. The kids want them to install a playground, though.
Yes, it’s a beautiful place, Col. I’m sure your little girls would like there to be a playground everywhere they go. 🙂
If not they tend to do their own conversion!
That is indeed beautiful!
Thank you. I was in awe of its beauty, and the colour of the sky just made the photo really special. 🙂
Reblogged this on Eu Vivo a Melhor Idade and commented:
SETEMBRO ESTÁ CHEGANDO E COM ELE VIRÁ A PRIMAVERA!
Thank you so much for the reblog, Sonia. Yes, spring is almost here in South Africa. 🙂

Thanks, LuAnn. xx
Beautiful orchid flower Sylvia, very beautiful wow!
Thanks, DellaAnna. 🙂
Orchids in natural state. I have not seen any like those in awhile. Lovely flowers, Sylvia.
Thanks, Imelda. We have some like this in Florida, I can’t wait to get back to see how they’re doing. 🙂
That is amazing. I wish me garden looked that colourful just now. I think it’s heading for Autumn — all green and limp looking in the damp D:
Thanks, Sarah. It’s almost Spring Day here, but we really don’t have much of a winter. 🙂
Did you notice the heart on the trunk to the right of the bottom buds? That pretty much says it all! ❤
No, I’d missed that, Gunta. Very observant of you. It’s very sweet. 🙂 ♥
Wonderful capture! Happy weekend to you! 🙂
Thanks so much, Jackie. 🙂
Amazing – so beautiful!
Thank you. 🙂
beautiful orchids and the bright flowers of the coral tree as well! hope you had a wonderful weekend, Sylvia! 🙂
Thanks so much, Lola. Glad you liked it. 🙂
So beautiful…! love the colors against the blue sky 🙂
Thanks, Andy. That’s exactly what I love about this pic. 🙂
I love it 🙂
What a lovely weekend, Adin. I am always amazed by the orchids flowers and the coral tree’s flowers are also magnificent.
Thank you so much. So glad you enjoyed. 🙂
You are most welcome. The coral tree is becoming extinct in my place. I used to sit under such of this tree when I was young, watching several species of small colorful humming birds feeding the nectar from the flowers. What I remember was so beautiful pair between the flowers and the birds.
How sad that the coral tree is becoming extinct there. We have so many in this area. They’re a wonderful sight to behold.
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Sue. 🙂
the flowers of the coral tree are lovely as well.. happy weekend too 🙂
Thanks, Elizz. 🙂
How lovely Sylvia, happy weekend!
Thanks, Gilly. xx
How lovely to see orchids growing in trees, or on trees, or whatever. I love orchids and have an or his story… but it’s too long for a comment. Have a lovely weekend yourself.
Thanks, Kate. Why not do an orchid post? 🙂
Because I don’t have any pix of or hides or Sydney Kingsfor Smith airport which is the other relevant player in the post…
😦
Or hides? Sorry, orchids!
Now, you have me rolling around. 😆
Sunny, colorful, full of life. Enjoy the weekend, dear. 🙂
Thanks so much, Marion. You too. xx
A very happy weekend to you too, Sylvia!!!! 🙂 xx
Thanks, Marina. xx
