We are now in England at my MiL’s house. She has had a couple of falls in the past week, and isn’t feeling so good. Fortunately she didn’t injure herself, but the shock seems to have upset her equilibrium. She is stuck upstairs at the moment, as she’s feeling too wobbly to get down to the ground floor. I shouldn’t think that there are too many 101-year-olds living alone in a double storey house. We’re trying to sort out a stair-lift for her, and my weekend is going to be filled with family coming to visit, and a big lunch on Sunday. In the meantime, here are some pretty flowers I saw along the road just outside London.
These lovely displays were placed at intervals all the way along the road, which made the route look really cheerful.
Wishing you all a great weekend. We leave for Florida on Tuesday, so it’s all go.

Beautiful flowers!
Hope that your mil is feeling better by now.
{Hugs}
Thanks, RoSy. Yes, she’s very much better. π xx
YAY – glad to hear that.
What a great idea! Lovely shots.
Thanks for taking part in Floral Friday Fotos. Hope to see you contributing again this week!
Thanks, Nick. I’ll see what I can come up with. π
I hope your MiL is soon feeling better, what an incredible woman she is. The stair lift will be a great idea for her. Lovely flowers everywhere, that’s one thing I do love to see in the towns here. The roundabouts in Somerset are particularly nice, makes driving so much prettier! Hope all goes well for your flight to and arrival in Florida Sylvia…looking forward to further updates! Hugs to you my friend π xx
Thanks, Sherri. Yes, she is feeling much better now, but we ditched the stair lift idea, as she is very frail to be living on her own now. She’s now considering moving into a really lovely care home in Surrey, not far from her house, and is going to give it a two week trial. Hugs to you too. π xx
Ahh…that sounds much better and must put her and your mind at rest. I hope the trial goes well for her and also that all is well in Florida with you π xx
Thanks, Sherri. π xx
It must be hard to have to take off and leave her there, too. She is an inspiration to us all and I wish her a speedy recovery, and hope she doesn’t lose heart and lives another 30 or 40 years. π She’s got to continue to set a good example for you and hubby! π
Thanks so much, Marsha. It was hard to leave her, but she’s being well looked after by family and friends. She’s considering moving out of her house, as the upkeep has become a bit of a burden for her at this stage in her life. We’ll see what transpires, but I’m sure she will live for a few more years yet. π
Amazing person! π
Sending my best wishes to your MiL … IΒ΄m so impressed that she live alone in a house like that in her age …
Hope you have a good time in London ! … // Maria π
Thanks for the good wishes, Maria. She is amazing, but I’m not sure how much longer she’ll be able to live on her own. π
Best wishes for the wonderful MiL!
Thanks so much, Phil. I know you understand what we’re going through at the moment.
MiL is a super trooper. Wish her well for me! π
The spring is well and truly a thing in Canberra at the moment, the flowers are just stunning, so chippa and pretty! π Wishing you a lovely afternoon and a great weekend. Cheers!

Thanks so much for the good wishes, Anna. She is doing a bit better now. π
Those flowers really brighten up the scenery. As do the photos you captured of the flowers.I wish all the best for MiL.
Thanks so much, Otto. π
Your MiL must be quite sprightly to be living in her own home still, despite the falls. A stair lift would be a great help. I hope she recovers her confidence soon.
Thanks a lot for the good wishes for my MiL. She is feeling better now. π
Poor old Ma-in-law, Sylvia. It can’t go on for ever, can it, even though she’s always been so fit. It will be hard. Hugs, darlin’. We have those flower boxes too, even up here in the gloom π
No, unfortunately she can’t go on like this for ever, and she’s gradually realising the fact. It’s so hard to relinquish one’s independence though. π
We have those flowers everywhere in East London too, I love them, they make the whole street lovelier. Hope you can sort some things out for your MiL and she gets better. I can imagine it is a worry for you! All the best!
Thanks so much, Ute. π
Wow, a 101-year old lady still living on her own! That’s “Endurance” and “strong” (both photo challenge themes this week π ). I am hoping you can set her up so she can continue to be independent in her home.
Thanks so much, Annette. We’re considering all options for my MiL. π
Flowers always make my day, I mean they can reallylighten up a “dead” room, or road in your case!
Mine too, Ioanna. Thanks. π
So sorry to hear about MiL Sylvia. Please give her my best regards and healing wishes. Those beautiful flowers do brighten up the roads for sure. Lovely shots hon. π
Thanks, Sonel. She is doing okay, but we feel the time may have come to make other arrangements for her, and she agrees with us. xx
Yes, not something anyone like to think about hey? But at least we can do that with the thought that our lives were good and blessed. π
Sorry to hear that. Hope MIL feels better soon. Have a good time with the family, catching up with one another and swapping stories π By the way, great shots. Very bright, uplifting flowers.
Thanks so much, Mabel. π
Best wishes to your MIL. 101 in a two story. Wow!
Thanks so much, Sue. π
That is a good idea the city put flowers along the side walk like these. Have a great weekend.
Yes it is, a great idea. π
Oh my…hope she balances out soon.
Thanks, Dawn. I hope so too.
The flowers are such a great idea, coloring up the gray streets!
Wishing all the best to your MiL. π
Thanks so much, Marina. π xx
hope MIL is up and about soon. She must be quite miffed to be upstairs when you are all down. Have a wonderful weekend
Yes, she’s not well pleased with herself at the moment.
Hope your lovely MiL recovers soon – they are such a worry aren’t they? We’ve had a couple of scares recently, no falls, but no communication. At 90 yrs old you do start to imagine the worst. But you have to admire their independent nature.
Have a fab weekend with the family Sylvia π
Thanks so much, Jude. Yes they are a worry.
Flowers light up peoples day
Yes they certainly do, Marylou. π
Best wishes for your fabulous MIL. Enjoy your weekend! π
Thanks so much, Inga. π
Pragtig!
Thanks. π
Loveliness!
Thanks Cindy. π
I hope your MIL recovers quickly. have a lovely time. π
Thanks so much, Imelda. π
My best wishes to you MiL Sylvia and welcome back to blighty for a spell.. π
Thanks, Adrian. I’m sure she’s going to be okay, but it’s very worrying to think of her having fallen when there was no-one around. She’s so determined to carry on living here though. π
