My granddaughter is all grown up.

Today is my darling granddaughter Tamsyn’s 19th birthday. What a very special person she is, and it doesn’t seem that long ago that she was just a tiny princess.

She’s always loved to dance, and has made us all so proud of her through the years.

She is full of fun, and loves to goof around.

She loves dressing up, and as you can see, is a whole lot of fun to be with.

Her pics on Facebook always make me smile.

She can play the ‘Femme Fatale’ with panache.

This is what she does after Sunday lunch.

She has challenged me to do this on a few occasions. Does she think I’m crazy?

Maybe this would be easier, but I’m not going to even try.

She’s grown up so fast, and passed her driving test this week. That’s no mean feat in Johannesburg.

What an elegant young lady she’s become.

Happy birthday, Tamsyn. May all your dreams come true, and be sure to always keep that wonderful smile.

  1. I am so glad that Oscar and Olivia visited you so I could read this post Sylvia. I have missed to many over the past few months and am very grateful for Marcy for visiting with the Orples, so I can catch up. πŸ˜€

Your granddaughter is gorgeous. Just like her granny. Great shots of a very talented little lady. πŸ˜€ β™₯

  3. A happy belated birthday to her … and cheers to the proud grandmother for featuring her through the years. Although she’s another example of of the beauty gene that is stuck in your family, I see much happiness on her face. … and hooray for her love for dance!

  4. Happy Birthday to Tamsyn. She has a wonderful smile indeed, and in the last photo, her eyes are smiling as well. Dance, dress-up, drive, entertain. She sounds like a girl of many talents with a humble heart. Thanks for sharing your family with us πŸ™‚

  5. I’ll add my best wishes for a happy birthday to the long list. What a fabulous grandmother she has to elicit so many birthday greetings from all over the globe!

  6. bon anniversaire! happy b’day to your pretty and talented Scorpio gal… dunno what she wants to do from now on, but I could bet she’ll make it everywhere… πŸ™‚ my very best, health, joy and happiness! ❀

    • I know! It does look painful, doesn’t it. I guess it was just perseverance and a little bit further every time. I won’t be trying it though. “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” as the saying goes. πŸ™‚

  7. Happy birthday, Tamsyn πŸ™‚
What a flexible and bendy granddaughter you have, Sylvia! I certainly couldn’t have achieved any of those gymnastic feats, even at 19 — in fact, never, from my earliest childhood. I can touch my toes still and, on a good day, can lay my hands flat on the floor in front of my feet during forward bends.

    • She did start very young, and never ceases to amaze me with what she can do. πŸ™‚ I can touch my toes, and balance on one leg. I haven’t tried the flat hand on the floor thing. Don’t want to fall on my face. 😯

      • Before I started doing Qi Gong exercises every day, I could barely get my hands past mid-calf! Three years of these exercises have made a tremendous difference to my suppleness, and to my inner calm!

    • Thanks, Pat. Yes, I do miss her, but we’ll be over to see the family before too long, and next year she’s hoping to go to university in the UK to study medicine, then she’ll be mid way between. πŸ™‚

  8. What a poised young lady ! Happy Birthday to Tamsyn your fun loving granddaughter … taking after her Grandma in so many ways I suspect πŸ™‚

  9. So beautiful and so adorable too. Should be so proud of for you and for everybody in the family. I wish all the best for her life, Blessing and happiness, Thank you, love, nia
