Another of my ‘Backyardigan’ birds

Often seen pecking around our backyard, is the White Ibis. He rarely stands still, and always looks as though he’s on a mission.

Sometimes they appear in a large group, but strangely enough, only on a Saturday. It must be a very good day for bugs in the lawn, but I wonder how they know what day of the week it is.

I’ve even had one come knocking on my window. Maybe he was just admiring his reflection, but that beak looks rather wicked, so I pretended I wasn’t in and just shot him through the glass.

Happy December to you all, and have a great week.

  1. I love the ibis. We get so many on a weekly basis that I have looked for a triangular yellow metal Ibis Crossing sign to put by the mailbox. Looks like they don’t make them, but they have Alligator Crossing signs which luckily I don’t need. πŸ™‚

  2. You must have a lot of nourishment in your backyard! Feeds an army πŸ˜€! I wonder if the one who knocked on your window also was on mission?! Very nice shots.

  3. I had to read “shot him through the glass” twice.
We have had birds fly into our windows. Nothing broke but the birds don’t live. 😦
One would think they could see the dirty windows.
    Ibis…lovely birds.
