Nancy Merrill has a Photo a Week Challenge. This week, the topic is ‘Humor’ and she invites us to “SHARE A PHOTO OR TWO OF SOMETHING OR SOMEONE THAT TICKLES YOUR FUNNY BONE.”
I find this photo taken last week at the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, rather comical.
When I saw this couple of Great Blue Herons who looked as though they’d had a bit of a tiff, I was immediately reminded of that line in the Carlos Santana classic song Black Magic Woman, “Don’t turn your back on me baby.”Β https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTxRj_Vfepk I hope they kissed and made up before bedtime.
Wishing you all a great weekend.

I was looking at recent posts wondering what WPC stood for. Now I know.
It actually stands for ‘Weekly Photo Challenge’ which is put out on a Friday by WordPress.
oh this is funny, Sylvia! I think they’re both caught up with pride! lol π
Thanks, Lola. Yes, I think so too. π
They DO look like a married couple, don’t they?! Funny.
Absolutely. π
So cute. How unlike us! π I would have liked a picture of the make-up scene, too. Now I’m just left with tears in my eyes wanting to know how the story ended! π
Aw…..sorry, Marsha. I couldn’t show you a happy ending to this little scenario. π¦
Bummer! How long did you watch them? Did they just go off their own separate ways? hehehe Divorce happens, I guess! π
Dozens of birds were settling down for the night in this huge tree, so I guess they just went to sleep too. We had to get back to the gate before it closed. π¦
Didn’t the gate police realize you are the famous photographer anotherday2paradise?
π My WordPress fame doesn’t precede me.
A hilarious thought β¦ lol β¦ they do look like they’re upset. Nature β¦ it’s wonderful !!! Great capture β¦ βΊ
Thanks, Issy. Glad you enjoyed.:)
I think the lady (on the right) just said I don’t want to be with you any more to the gentleman (on the left).
Oh dear, I do hope it wasn’t final. π
” never let the sun set …. one of them might need to put some effort in here Sylvia π
Hahaha. Yes, I think you’re right, Poppy. A great motto to live by. π
I think this must have been the sequel to your “just one little kiss” post.
Hahaha. Yes, possibly, as it was taken about 40 minutes later on our way back. π
I still wonder how you find this shots – with so much social context and vibe – nice one – and the song is a funny fit too π
Thanks, Yvette. I do my utmost to entertain you. π
I meant “these” shots – not this – lol – and thanks for the “birdtainment” ha
β
They really do look unhappy with each other. One of them probably stole the other’s food π
Thanks, Mabel. There was definitely something which had upset one of them. π
Hahaha….good one! Really hope they made up with each other before bedtime. π
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed. π
Thinking of them kissing makes me laugh!
Cute shot, ad.
Thanks, Gemma. Made me laugh too. π
No one is immune! π
Apparently not. π
π Break up and then (hopefully) make up π
Yes, it’s the only way to survive. π
It tickles me too π Btw, I love that song!
Hehehe. We must have the same taste in songs and tickles. π
”Back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other.”
One fine day in the middle of the night. π
Perfect caption, Sylvia!
Thanks, Nancy. π
Sylvia, this entry really tickles my funny bone – thank you!
Everything is in the viewer’s eyes and how we look at things. Have a great weekend now.
Thanks, Viveka. You too. π xx
Fun post, Sylvia and apt title.
Thanks for your visits, likes and nice comments.
Thanks, Ruth. It’s always a pleasure to visit you too. π
Great one, Sylvia!
Thank you so much. π
Looks like a lovers’ spat. Thanks for the laugh and for joining the challenge!
Thanks, Nancy. Glad you enjoyed my entry. π
“I was not lying when I said I had a headache, dear. You are enough to give anyone a headache” …. first thoughts, Sylvia … what do you see in your photo? π
Hehehe. I think he’s just told her that he’s confiscating her credit card. π
Very special photo of this duo herons
Thanks, Marylou. π
I’ll have that song in my head for the remainder of the day, Sylvia. π Like Lucid Gypsy, I’ve never seen two GB Herons together either. We have one who lives at the lake behind our house…beautiful creatures.
Yes, I’ve also given myself an ‘ear worm’ for the rest of the day. π I also have a resident Great Blue at the back of our house. Do you happen to live next door to me? π
Well, I’ve never lived in South Africa, but I did live in Florida before moving to North Carolina. π
I just adore the bird life here in Florida. It almost makes up for having left my beach behind in South Africa.
Sylvia I don’t think I’ve ever seen two herons together, so this is great! Also I’m a fan of Carlos and that is my favourite track of his π
Mine too, Gilly. I bet you’ll have it in your head for the rest of the day now. π If you came to our local wetlands here in Florida, you’d be amazed at how many Great Blue Herons you can see.
Thanks for the laugh. π
Your very welcome, Lisa. π
Loving this Sylvia! They definitely look as though they have had harsh words. π
Thanks, Sue. π
Lol!
π
A tiff indeed.. made me smile Sylvia! π
Haha. Glad it did, Adrian. π
lol here we thought that was just a human problem XD
Obviously not, Andy. π
