“Bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I’ve looked at clouds that way.” ~ Joni Mitchell
Oh how I love looking at clouds! Like snowflakes, each one is different and totally unique. They’re ever-changing, and we never get the same one back again. Maybe that’s why they are photographed so much. Here are just a few that have caught my attention over the years.
I’d better stop now, before I get too carried away. You’ve probably got the message though, that I really do love clouds.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend, and if you’re up in the frozen north, do keep warm. My son sent me a photo of his house yesterday. No clouds, but tons of snow to shovel before he could even drive up to it. I feel quite guilty down here in Florida, with temperatures in the high 80’s.

Mwah ! Off to my art lesson. 😃
Have fun!
Wow Sylvia – your opening photograph is an incredible shot. Love it!
Thanks so much, Mary. I might have a go at painting it one day. 😀
Yeah – it would make a fantastic painting. Hope you go for it!
Come back for another look. Interesting how the first pic draws the reader into the post.
Thanks for the second look, Frank. So happy you approve of my choice of the first image. 🙂
Wonderful pics, Sylvia. I love our blue skies . . . but clouds provide an ever changing airscape.
Thanks, Nancy. I so agree with you. 🙂
Beauiful photos all Sylvia. Clouds are amazing aren’t they, all the different formations they produce. Love the cloud reflections too.Amazing to think of all the snow your son and his family are having at the moment, when the sun is shining here and the daffodils are coming into bloom already. But nothing like as warm as where you are 😉 Have a wonderful weekend 🙂 xx
Thanks, Sherri. Gotta love clouds. 🙂 I really feel for my son up there in the frozen north. Wish I could transport him here in a heartbeat. 🙂 xx
I love clouds!!!
They’re so fascinating to watch, aren’t they? Thanks, Aletta. 🙂
Amazing Sylvia, all different, all unique, all beautiful
Thanks, Pauline. 🙂
I do love that snow picture it is so beautiful. Like in a fairy tale and such a lovely house too! I am ready for a snowball fight!
Thanks, Ute. Yes it does look lovely in the snow. I’m sure the children have had fun with snowballs and snowmen. 🙂
What a wonderful collection!
Thanks, Dawn. 🙂

Awesome, awesome clouds ad 🐥
Thanks so much, Hopestar. 🙂 xx
Beautiful clouds, Sylvia! As you say, we never get the same one back. Their uniqueness is fascinating.
Thanks so much, Tiny. Today is very grey here. Just one big cloud. 🙂
The same here…
I suspect that you might know how much I love clouds, too? Love every one of your shots! Sending sympathy to your son and his family. All those blizzards must be getting really old by now.
Thanks, Gunta. Yes, the whole family is now so fed up with the incessant snow and ice.
Amazing view Sylvia …i love it.
Thanks, Jake. 🙂
Beautiful sky and cloud pictures! The first picture is really awesome. Is that one inspires you of your painting?
Yes, maybe that’s why I choose water in my paintings. 🙂
It’s really hard to pick a favorite, but your son’s house is incredibly beautiful in the snowy landscape.
It’s no secret, I am a cloud fan too… your photos of clouds from all over the world would make a good coffee table book.
Ah, such lovely clouds! Beautiful photos, Sylvia! 🙂 Have a beautiful weekend! 🙂
I love clouds too …. since I was a child when I together with my granddad tried to find figures in them. Love to fly above the clouds – they are so fluffy and soft. Fab images as always. My favorite image here … is the winter images … so beautiful.
beautiful photos of clouds, Sylvia! i like them all! that’s a lot snow in NJ! have a wonderful weekend 🙂
Great photos for dreamers.
Thanks, Marylou. 🙂
Lovely clouds Sylvia!
Thanks, Nicole. 🙂
Beautiful, Sylvia!
Glad you enjoyed them, Naomi. 🙂
So many shapes and sizes 🙂 Lovely shots, Ad, but did they have to dump ALL of it on your son’s house? 😦 😦
Thanks, Jo. That’s exactly what my son is thinking. He also has another house which has renters, so he has to pay for all their snow to be cleared. It’s cost him a small fortune this winter. 😦
Eeek 😦
I know. He’s decided to sell it as soon as possible. 🙂
Beautiful clouds pictures. Clouds can change our moods too. I like the big happy puffy ones.
Yes, so do I, but I also love the dark grey storm clouds, as long as I’m safe at home. 🙂
Lovely formations and photos. I especially like the clouds in the water!
Thanks, Carol. 🙂
Outstanding sunsets … love the clouds reflection on the water.
Thanks, Frank. Happy weekend to you. 🙂
I love clouds too..! beautiful shots 🙂
Thanks, Andy. 🙂
They are magical aren’t they? So fleeting. My favourite is the Green Cay with so many clouds reflected!
Yes they are, Gilly. Your favourite is mine too. 🙂
You’ve certainly traveled to some beautiful places, Sylvia. The photos are all wonderful! Boy, I wouldn’t want to shovel that driveway! 🙂
Thanks, Jill. Well he also doesn’t want to shovel the driveway, but needs must. 😉
I love that Joni Mitchel song and these images are jaw dropping. Hard ot pick my fave but the clouds reflecting in the water really jumped out at me. It’s a warm sunny day here. Could spring be here?
Yay for you with the warm sunny day! Mind you, I know that what you Canadians might call ‘warm’, is quite different from my idea of warm. I really hope my son gets some better weather too. He is so over the NJ winter this year. It’s been brutal.
We have had a mild winter in the west but yes my idea of warm is not yours I am certain. 🙂
Beautiful clouds for Ed’s challenge. 🙂
Thanks so much, Cee. 🙂
Beautiful cloudscapes here – I think my favourite is the reflection. Happy weekend Sylvia – how’s that house renovation coming on?
Thanks so much, Jude. Yes, I couldn’t believe that reflection. 🙂
Such beautiful cloudscapes Sylvia! Especially love that first sunset. Your son’s house looks picture perfect, but it makes me wonder how one copes with that much snow!
Thanks so much, Madhu. The roof on our son’s house isn’t coping too well with all that snow, but he can’t get it fixed until the snow’s gone. 😦
WOW! These are amazing photographs, dear AD, Thank you, have a nice weekend, love, nia
Thanks so much, Nia. You too. xx 🙂
