I love that picture. He almost looks like a statue, rather than a real heron. It’s something to do with his colour so totally matching the top of the lamppost.
Good capture, Sylvia 🙂 For me, birds have a tendency to fly away before I’ve taken my shot, so there’s either nothing there in my pictures, or a blur of flapping wings. I need a more sophisticated camera, I think.
Yes 🙂
Thank you for agreeing. 🙂
)
He seems to be looking out for any trouble makers 😉
He doesn’t stand for any nonsense. 😉
That’s a fantastic capture Sylvia! What’s the secret to getting your feathered friends to pose for you? 🙂
It’s all a matter of timing and holding one’s breath. 🙂
Magnificent.
Thanks so much. 🙂
Stunning! ❤
Thank you. I love Great Blue Herons. 🙂
Hehe looks like the birds made that “platform” their own!
Absolutely. In fact the whole marina was covered in it. I had to watch where I was walking. 🙂
good for the garden though – if they could fly over drop a few bombs (clear of nice people, though) and off they go again?
Wow! Statuesque to the max!
Couldn’t have said it better myself. 🙂
I love him!
Me too. 🙂
Handsome indeed!
Very handsome indeed. 🙂
Bether there then at my place, cause pont.
🙂
He’s got a Roman nose. lol 😉
Haha. I didn’t know that birds have a nose as such, just two little holes at the top of their beak. 🙂
Great capture!
Thanks, Dawn. 🙂
What a handsome fellow he is indeed 🙂 xx
Ssh!! I think he’s vain enough already, Sherri. 🙂
😀
Looks like a bird in a crow’s nest. Hope he found what he’s looking for. Great pic, ad.
Thanks, Gemma. Haha Yes it does, and I’m sure he’d spotted something interesting, as he flew away a few seconds later. 🙂
How perfect Sylvia!
Thanks, Mary. 🙂
Caption: Alive or manufactured?
Well, as he flew away a few seconds after his photo shoot, I had to assume that he was the genuine article. 🙂
Now that’s a great capture
Thanks, bulldog. 🙂
He looks fabulous – and as though he means business! 🙂
Thanks, Elaine. I think they are very ‘no nonsense’ birds. 🙂
excellent image… HL = huge “like”! ❤
Thank you kindly. 🙂 xx
The contrast of him against the blue sky is beautiful!
Thanks, Aletta. 🙂
Perfect! He almost doesn’t look real!
Thank you. Yes, if he hadn’t flown away a few seconds later, I might have also wondered. 🙂
Wow he is posing beautifully for you Sylvia!
Yes, I believe he knew he was being photographed. 🙂
he does look like a statue- beautiful against that sky
Thanks, Lisa. Yes I agree with you. 🙂
Perfect background for the model!
Yes, isn’t it just? 🙂
Just great!
Amazing captured once again Sylvia. Adorable creature …. 🙂
Thanks so much, Jake. 🙂
What an utterly gorgeous shot of the Wonderful Mr GBH. I believe you’re really communicating with these marvelous birds to get them to pose so nicely.
Thanks, Gunta. What a lovely comment! 🙂
Beautiful shot.
Thank you. 🙂
He knows he’s a beauty.
Yes he does. 🙂
Wow! What a fantastic shot! Love it 😊
Thanks, Inga. 🙂
The sky is the perfect foil for his regalness 😊
Thanks, Gilly. Yes it is. 🙂
Wonderful shot, Sylvia. I love when egrets and herons are framed against Florida blue skies.
Thanks, Nancy. It certainly is a great backdrop. 🙂
Wonderful! 🙂
Thanks, Adrian. 🙂
King of the roost (and knows it)
Absolutely. Long live the King. 🙂
I love that picture. He almost looks like a statue, rather than a real heron. It’s something to do with his colour so totally matching the top of the lamppost.
Thanks, Sarah. I can assure you that he was the real thing, as he flew away just after having his photo taken. 🙂
Good capture, Sylvia 🙂 For me, birds have a tendency to fly away before I’ve taken my shot, so there’s either nothing there in my pictures, or a blur of flapping wings. I need a more sophisticated camera, I think.
Great shot, Sylvia. 🙂
Thanks, Lisa. 🙂
What poise that bird has 🙂
Thanks, Tish. Yes, he looks so regal. 🙂
Quite the vigilant one 🙂
Yes, he does look very ‘eyes peeled’. 😀
That he does! 😄😄
Your bird shots get better and better…
Thanks, Jude. There are lots that don’t. 🙂
