Cheerful Pink for Cee’s FFC

Pink is one of my favourite colours, and my little granddaughters certainly take after me.

My  birthday in July last year was quite a pink affair, with my sister making me this beautiful chocolate cake, decorated in pink.

The following  day was my actual birthday, and we had ‘high tea’ at the Oyster Box Hotel, also with a pink theme.

My favourite pink Hibiscus is/was growing in a pot outside our front door in Umhlanga. I hope the new owner is looking after it well.

Pink is such a happy colour, and this weekend, I’m going to think pink and be as cheerful as these beautiful Proteas.

I’m sure everything is going to work out just fine, and as there’s nothing I can do to speed up the process of finally getting our Green Cards, I’m going to keep calm and stop worrying about it.  As our son often says,”It is what it is.” 🙂

Have a great weekend, and ‘Happy Mothers’ Day’ to all of you awesome moms. We rock!

  1. So pretty in pink! Hi Sylvia, at long last! Got back very late Monday from my trip to Jersey and only just catching up, so far behind. I hope to blog about my trip as soon as I can and share one or two photos. Being there for Liberation Day was absolutely amazing and Mum and I had a wonderful time. Now I want to catch up with you and see what you’ve been up to! Love the photos as always, and you look great, as always 🙂 xx

      • Thanks so much Sylvia…I always love to come over here and spend time with you 🙂 I was hoping to get my Jersey post today but it’s been such a busy week since I got back with appointments etc. and I have my middle boy Nicky home for the weekend arriving this evening, and I need to get ready for that. Hoping Monday I will at last get back to blogging again and back on that proverbial track…phew! xx

  2. PINK! Such a happy color.
WHen my 2nd child (1st daughter) was born, the nurse commented on how cute she was & said – “Oh, she’s so cute. Look at the birthmark above her lip. And – she’s pink!”

  3. happy mothers day S – 🌹🌹🌹🌹
and you are right – pink is a happy color – and also correct on the waiting and who worrying does not help,…. so cheers to our “patience bar” being stretched and strengthened….

      • Oh I am so glad – but it kinda sucks waiting – and when it is a few times that can really drain. when I was a counselor in FL back in 01 – I worked with women who were getting their kids back and sometimes there would be a third and 4th delay – which meant another court date and then waiting – again – waiting – and some gave up – it always stuck with me to see how they were impacted by the drain – there is a very real toll we sometimes endure when it comes to the “process” and waiting on red tape – anyhow, all that to say – I am so glad it is working out 🙂

  4. It’ll work out. It’s all just red tape, isn’t it, Ad? How could they possibly not want you? Give yourself a shake! You’re the most desirable couple on the block 🙂

  5. Lovely pix (beautiful granddaughters of course!) and I like your pink theme! Too bad you can’t get your green card in pink!

  6. True. Happy mother’s day to you! 🙂
(I didn’t know anyone still said “high tea”)
    Bon week-end
