Elaine of ‘I used to be indecisive’ blog, has nominated me to do the ‘5 Photos, 5 Stories’ challenge. Yesterday I showed you my two granddaughters getting acquainted with Mr. Leo, but just a bit further along, there was someone else waiting to greet them. This was something they hadn’t seen before, and they were so fascinated by his scaly body and cute smile.
Today, I would like to nominate Carol of ‘Which Way Now’ blog. She posts photos from her extensive travels, which I’m sure you’ll find really interesting.
The challenge is quite simply to “post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”. Of course there’s no obligation to do the challenge,; only if you would like to join in.
You are right, he is cute and not camera-shy at all 😀
The girls were quite overawed to see their first alligator, and so close too. 🙂
I love them – from afar. We have a lot of crocs here and they’re amazing creatures!
Wow Great capture Sylvia
Thanks, Jake. Glad you like it. 🙂
Wow! No wonder your granddaughters were fascinated, and what a fantastic experience for them 😀 xx
Thanks so much, Sherri. It was great to be able to share some of the wonderful sights we see in nature, with these city kids. 🙂
Oh – I bet that was cool for them to see.
Yes, they were quite taken with him. 🙂
Do you ever get immune to the sheer awesomeness of these beasts? You see so many. I don’t know if I could ever get used to them!
I guess I am a bit blasé about seeing them, but I’m always happy when there’s one in sight. 🙂
I can understand that. I see lots of bald eagles and some people get all excited about seeing them…
I would not trust that smiley face! 😀
Very wise. 🙂
Sylvia, love your 5 posts and photos! Man, you were on top of this gator. Your granddaughters are adorable. Appreciate your visits to my space. xo
Thanks so much, Margie. *hugs* 🙂
Great picture, but I wonder if the smile also chatters 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Wednesday 🙂 ❤
Thank you. Yes I think that friendly smile isn’t quite what it seems. 😕 xx
I am not sure about the ‘cute’ smile, but I would not want to ever see it 🙂
I’m sure he’d be delighted to meet you. 🙂
Oh he looks all charming and smiling but I have a feeling he is waiting for a snack. 🙂
Hahaha You could be right, Sue…….. 99.99% right. 😀
His smile is quite sweet, I have to admit 🙂
He’s such a charmer. 🙂
Wow, he looks a bit angry:) But I guess that just the ‘natural look’ of any alligator!
I think this is his meet and greet look. 😀
I agreed on the “cute smile” part. It might have quite deeper meaning 🙂
Yes, you’re probably right. 😕
Reminds me of Jack Nicholson in the Shining film…. the same psychopathic smile. Hope he didn’t give the girls a fright!
Haha. Yes, I see what you mean. No, the girls thought he was sweet, and felt sorry that he didn’t seem to have any friends. 😃
Mmm… they do seem to be solitary creatures (as far as I can tell from your photos) whereas crocodiles seem to hang around in groups. Maybe they just have bad breath… 😉
What a charming fellow! His cousin says hello. 🙂
🐊😃
I’m pretty sure you posted this just to make me happy haha 🙂 Beautiful creature!
So glad you like it, Lucy. 🙂
So what did the grandchildren think of him?
They thought he was cute, especially when I pointed out his smile and sweet little toes. 🙂
Wow. What luck to be able to get shots like this and yet…were it me, even on the boardwalk which you say is safely above, I would’ve picked up those granddaughters and run like the wind!
Well, it’s only the same as taking them to the zoo to see the lions and tigers. 🙂
Yes, except the fact that at the zoo there is no chance of them getting to you! LOL!
what a great shot, Sylvia but i think it’s a little too close 🙂 looks like Mr A is well behaved giving your girls just a faint smile 🙂
Thanks, Lola. Yes, he was extremely well behaved, and didn’t even show his teeth. 🙂
You have no idea how much I prefer the lion! (and your grandaughters 🙂 )
Hehehe. I think I do. 🙂
He looks alert….as if conscious of some Paparazzo violating his privacy….
Fabulous shot!
I think he’s so used to being photographed that he has a permanent smile especially for the Paparazzi, just to make everyone believe that he’s a really affable guy and quite harmless. 🙂
It’s Al E. Gator!
How did you know his name, Nancy? You’re so clever. 😀
Way to close for comfort – but wow great shot Sylvia! He seems like quiet the happy fellow.
Thanks, Mary. Yes, he doesn’t look like he’d harm a fly. 🙂
Ha – I think I’d rather enjoy the view from above like you guys!!
He looks cute but wouldn’t want to get too close to that scaly body and smile. I’d be happy to see this guy from a safe distance with a zoom lens!
Thanks, Geralyn. I felt that we were quite safe peering down at him from above. 🙂
Eeek! He looks a bit scary rather than cute. Just as well they can’t jump! 🙂
I’m sure it’s just because you don’t see alligators every day, Elaine. If one did jump, I’d get such a fright. 😯
Just a friendly guy on a stroll
I knew that’s the way you’d see him too. 🙂
I don’t suppose Leo knows Mr. A? old chums? 😀
I’ll ask him next time I’m there. 🙂
At a distance lol
I find them quite irresistible, well on your photos anyway. I think it’s those funny cute legs and feet that do it. Checked back on yesterday’s, love the lion too.
Thanks, Kate. They are rather photogenic. 🙂
I am glad he can’t jump!!!! But amazing photograph. Thank you, love, nia
Thanks so much, Nia. 🙂
I must admit he does look pretty cute flashing that smile. 🙂 Great photo!
Thanks, Jill. I never thought that alligators would one day feature so much in my everyday life. 🙂
for real? he was under the boardwalk???? Oh my I must say the sight of him makes my skin crawl a bit- too scary!
Hahaha. We were safely above him, and as far as I know, alligators can’t jump. 😀
