Thanks to Aletta of ‘nowathome‘, for tagging me to do the 3 days, 3 quotes challenge. Today we leave Umhlanga, and will be driving up to Johannesburg to see our daughter and family before flying off to England on Tuesday.
Last night, hubby and I went out for sushi,

“Heaven has no taste.”
“Now-“
“And not one single sushi restaurant.”
A look of pain crossed the angel’s suddenly very serious face.”
― Terry Pratchett, Good Omens
and against our better judgement, we opted for dessert too. I stopped hubby after his first mouthful of ‘Mississippi Mud Pie’ to get a photo. (I hope there’s no penalty for posting an extra quote for the challenge.) 🙂
“Your hand and your mouth agreed many years ago, that as far as chocolate is concerned, there’s no need to involve your brain.” ~ Dave Barry
The rules of the challenge are:
1) Thank the person who nominated you.
2) Post a quote each day for 3 days.
3) Each day nominate 3 new bloggers to take part.
My 3 nominees for today are:
Kathy of https://kmsalvatore.wordpress.com/
Lynne of ‘On the go with Lynne’
Drake of ‘Le Drake Noir’
(No problem if you don’t have the time or inclination to accept this challenge.)
I wish you all a very happy weekend.
Reminds me that it might be sushi time again one of these days.
Hehehe. Yes, now you come to mention it, why not? 🙂
I LOVE the quote about chocolate. Yes why get the brain involved. Just dig in and enjoy. 🙂
Thanks, Sue. My logic too. 🙂
your hand and your mouth agreed long ago – no need to involve your brain – priceless. Any Terry Pratchett quote is also great – have read all his books. Thanks for popping by my blog – where is the background photo of your blog taken – not ringing any bells, Mediterranean island but not it isn’t really right, with all those terraces, do put me out of my misery and tell me!
Thanks so much for your comment and follow. 🙂 My background photo is Lake Titicaca, and my header is a Maya temple in Lamanai, Belize.
you are welcome, thanks for helping me out with the info on the background photo, was getting really annoyed that I couldnt match it with anything in my head, but it makes sense as Ive never been to costa rica
Lake Titicaca is in Bolivia/Peru, and so sorry, but I meant to type Belize, not Costa Rica for the ruins. 😳
I remember my brain went – hmm – for about a second as it registered something odd, but then I swept any doubts away and typed back 🙂 but well done for updating! I’d hate for someone to fly to the wrong place on your recommendation 🙂
Hehehe. I’ve been to so many places that I sometimes get mixed up. Hubby says that if it weren’t for him, I’d probably end up in Timbuktu. 😯
It’s not knowing the name, it’s keeping the memory of the experience alive in your heart….. I say this because frankly I cannot remember names of places either or people – or much else, but I remember a sight and a smell, an experience, a sound, and they stay with me. We all catalogue experiences differently I guess. Whenever I traveled in my youth my dad would ask me what route I took, which mountains crossed, which rivers seen, did I take route A or route B, and I never could remember, and always felt a bit wanting, my dad is now quite advanced in years and can still recall cycle tours he did when he was 18, different wiring I say, so good for your hubby (and in my case google and Mr Polianthus)
I so agree with you. Lucky us to both have partners who can keep us from getting lost. 😀
oh shhhhh don’t tell them or we will NEVER hear the end of it hehhe
Perfect chocolate quote – travel safely.
Count me in for some of that Mississippi Mud Pie!
Sorry Frank, you’re way too late. 😕
Oh no!!!! … guess I’m off to get my Graeter’s Ice Cream.
I just ate and now I want to eat again… You’re terrible with your foodie pics 😉
I always think of your when I post foodie pics. 😀

Absolutely!! 🙂
That mud pie looks so delicious! And I bet it tasted even better!
Well I didn’t taste it, but hubby thoroughly enjoyed it. 🙂

Second quote is no problem. Love both of them. Enjoy your last days in SA
Haha. Thanks. 🙂
I would agreed with too – my brain completely agrees 🙂
Hahaha. Thanks, YC. 🙂
I’m afraid I’d have to skip the sushi too, but the dessert looks heavenly!
No problem about the sushi. All the more for me. 🙂
If I skip the sushi, may I have two desserts?
I don’t see why you shouldn’t. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed.
Thanks, Nancy. 🙂
Happy Weekend. Safe travels!
Thanks so much, Dawn. 🙂
Yummm… wishing you a pleasant journey!
Thanks, Gunta. We’re having such a great time. 🙂
oh i love sushi! 🙂 but i won’t pass on the mud pie either! 🙂 safe travels!
Thanks so much, Lola. 🙂
Sushi, chocolate and ice cream. Add some pizza and you’ve covered my favorite food groups! I could eat everyday. Dave Barry is so right with his quote.
Thanks, Geralyn. I won’t argue with your favourite food groups. I’ve had them all in the past few days. 🙂
Delicious post, Sylvia, especially the mud pie. Time flies when you’re having fun. Hard to believe it is time for you to be returning. Thanks for the nomination. I’ll see what I can do. 😀
Thanks, Lynne. Yes, the time has really flown by, but we still have more adventures and meetings to look forward to in England. 🙂
That sushi plate looks as pretty as a picture, but I can’t get into eating cold raw fish and rice. But gimme some of that mud-pie. What’s that? All gone? Darn….
Have a great time in Joey, and safe flight back to England. Nice and warm here at the moment 🙂
Thanks, Jude. Sorry about the mud-pie. Hubby made short work of it. Keep that sun shining in England for us. 🙂
Like Jo, I don’t do sushi…but that pie looks yummy! Have a great time with your daughter, Sylvia.
Thanks so much, Jill. I’m sure that sushi is an acquired taste. It didn’t used to appeal to me, but one I’d tried it, I was hooked. “)
Mmm, I love sushi. I make it home at least once/week. I can’t think of a better combination ❤
Thanks, Lucy. I’m sure that sushi making is quite and art. 🙂
Indeed it is. Takes a lot of patience, so it’s not too easy to make it when you are very hungry haha. It took me a few tries to make it look nice, but homemade sushi is my favorite sushi as I can add whatever I want to it. Yum! 🙂
the mud pie looks amazing! The sushi looks like artwork!
Thanks, Lisa. Yes, you’re right on both counts. 🙂
well thats quite a combo:)) i like this shot too:), i like both, im not sure id like them together though:)) im looking forward to your pics of Johannesburg. safe travels
Thanks, Kathy. We’re having a great time here with our daughter and family. 🙂
A real LOL moment Sylvia!
😄
Sushi and chocolate. Yes, yes, yes! That is certainly a big sushi platter and I hope none of it went to waste. Same for the dessert 😉
Thanks, Mabel. I can assure you that between the two of us, we made sure that nothing was left over. 🙂
A lovely tempting sharing platter SylviaI I find a little goes along way with Sushi !
Happy and safe travels x
Thanks, Poppy. The sushi was delicious and we ate the lot. 😳
My favorite meals ever 🙂
Thanks, Estelea. You have very good taste in food. 🙂
I know… 😉 Too bad we can not have real ones here.. I would be too worried about their freshness, especially since I recently read the story of a guy getting infected with worms after eating sushis in a resto nearby 😛
Great series you completed dear Slyvia, I enjoyed especially this post WOW! Seems sooooooo delicious. Thank you, have a nice day and weekend, love, nia
😃😍
Strangely enough, for a Hollander, I don’t like sushi, but I’d give my eye-teeth for that dessert!
Hahaha. Yes, you must have a very sweet tooth, just like C. 🙂
The mud pie wins hands down, Ad (I really can’t get into sushi).
Another challenge? Oh, no- I’m outta here! Safe travels 🙂
Thanks, Jo. Yes, that mud-pie was a real winner with hubby, but too sweet for me. I prefer savoury myself. 🙂
