Floral Friday Fotos: Beauty arises from the mud

This morning an exquisite pink water lily appeared in my mom-in-law’s garden pond. How amazing it is that a flower of such great beauty is able to emerge unsullied from the murky, muddy depths.

β€œWhenever you should doubt your self-worth, remember the lotus flower. Even though it plunges to life from beneath the mud, it does not allow the dirt that surrounds it to affect its growth or beauty.” ~ from “Rise up and salute the sun.” Suzy Kassem

Wishing you all a lovely weekend. On Saturday we fly back to our home in Florida, after a wonderful few weeks of visiting family and friends in South Africa and England.

  1. Lovely shot! I guess that is why the lotus and water lily are religious symbols of purity and of the soul cleansing itself spiritually and arising out of the mire of common temporal existence.
