Seen on one of my walks along the beach promenade. My guess is that somebody’s parent got tired of carrying it, and surreptitiously discarded the balloon when their child wasn’t looking. Have you ever done such a dastardly thing? I seem to remember that I have. π

Haha…moi? Never π
π Of course not, Sherri.
lol π
Ha, I know my daughter does it, so I am off the hook π
Definitely nothing to worry about then, Madhu. π
Oh yes. A few of Alex’s treasures have “gotten lost” along the way, much to his dismay and my delight! π
Hehehe. Mea Culpa. π
I didn’t do something like that
Really? π
Odd to see it there! π
Yes, it did look very sad. π
Poor balloon. π¦
π¦
For a second there it looked as if they tied it around the face of an alligator! Right…say no more.
Even I can’t see that alligator face. π
Who me???? You’re joking- right? π
Hehehe. Me…joke! Would I ever? π
Really? I am not sure carrying a balloon would be such a burden task but I can’t be certain to what circumstance they had. There could be a vary good reason as well.
Ah, but sometimes it’s better to accidentally lose the balloon when the child isn’t looking, than to take it home where it’s sure to pop at some stage, causing lots of tears and anguish for both parents and child. π
I like your background story for how this balloon ended up there. Makes sense π Great odd ball!
Thanks, Lisa. Glad you enjoyed. π
It’s odd and it’s shaped like a ball. Great for the challenge! I may or may not have done something similar in the past π
π’π
There is a possibility such a thing may or may not have happened in days gone by. π
Hahaha. Love your non-commital answer to my question, Sue. π
Dastardly indeed. I bet your children read this confession. Then again, they have children of their own now and likely understand! π
Gunta, I have seen both my children do exactly the same thing. It runs in the family. π
I think I would have popped it because they look so sad when they’ve deflated!
I suppose I could have dashed it against the spikes on that evil-looking aloe. π
oh my! π
Hehehe. π
Such a fun odd ball. I would probably have taken the balloon just for fun π
Thanks, Cee. I’m sure no-one would have claimed it if you’d taken it. π
Your response to Cee’s challenge is excellent, Sylvia. A good story starter!
Thanks, Ruth. Yes, I’m sure that one could weave a story around the fate of this poor old balloon. π
Did you hear a sobbing child nearby wondering where their balloon went? π I’ve seen balloons floating up into the atmosphere; somebody didn’t hold on or tie it tight enough to their person.
I think that child was long gone, and onto the next treat already. π Our family has had a few tears when a new balloon has tugged itself free of small fingers.
Or it could have a secret camera in taping all the passer-bys. Or it could be an alien detection device. Or it could be a magical balloon that once you touch it, you become invisible. π The possibilities are endless my friend. XOXO – Bacon
Oh my! What a vivid imagination you have, Bacon. π
You think? Thank you! XOXO – Bacon
Those are some possibilities π
Hahaha. Glad you think so too. π
