I was waiting in the wings for a nice shot of the Great Egret, when he suddenly decided I was too close and took off like a bat out of hell. Just look at those long toes, pure white feathers and such an amazing wing span.
Thanks for letting me know – I was amazed at how much she explained and role-played was a direct correlation in what we were seeing in my Mother. It has been very helpful. Have a beautiful Sunday my friend.
I’m so sorry for all your troubles, Mary. My mother had dementia. Hope you’re feeling better now. I love your gorgeous anemone. 🙂 xx
What a fab action shot! I can barely manage a seagull! #MySundayPhoto
Thanks so much, Lucy. It was a total fluke really. 🙂

Not sure if my comment disappeared but the Great egret is gorgeous in your photo, beauty in flight. You know why I love birds?! 🙂
Thanks, Robin. I also love birds, and the water birds we have here in Florida, are so spectacular. 🙂
Great shot Sylvia despite his last minute mad dash!
Thanks so much, Sherri. I think the ‘mad dash’ effect adds something to the shot. 😀
what a treat to catch him in flight.
Thanks, Ruth. Yes it was, and although it’s not a perfect shot, I quite like it. 🙂

Thanks, Cybele. He has claws on the ends of his toes. 🙂

Thanks so much, Gislinde. Hugs to you too. 🙂
the toes are extremely long!
All the better to pluck the fish from the water with. 🙂
Amazing he can fly with those big things hanging off him. 🙂
I agree, Sue. Maybe that’s why we humans can’t fly. 😀
I’m glad I’m not the only one to get butt shots of the feathered critters.
Hahaha. I’m happy to join the club, Gunta. 🙂
You are right. The wing span looks quite a long one.
Thanks, YC. It looks massive. 🙂
Maybe he was feeling shy. Great shot, Sylvia!
Thanks, Jill. He’s not usually shy, but I must have startled him. 🙂
amazing Sylvia- look at those legs!
Thanks, Lisa. I think the legs are the only bit that’s in focus. 🙂
still beautiful
Hi Sylvia … Nice job of catching the landing gear still out.
Thanks, Frank. It was just a reflex action to press the button. I almost missed it entirely.
Great shot…the wing span of that bird is amazing!
Thanks so much, Gerrie. 🙂
Perfect shot!
Thanks, Zirkie. It could have been more perfect. 🙂
Ooops! Nearly got him 🙂
Again! 🙂
Did Mr. A get a little cranky again? 🙂
We can’t blame this on Mr. A. He was elsewhere………I think. 😕
Ah wonder what got him then 🙂
I think he suddenly sensed my presence, even though I was trying not to breathe. 🙂
tsk I thought he would of been used to your visits by now 🙂
A fabulous shot. Brilliant.
Thanks so much, Brian. I’ll try to do better next time. 🙂
