Ailsa’s Travel Theme this week is ‘Self’, so I got hubby to take this photo by the tree at the club. It wasn’t until I walked in and saw the Christmas tree, that I realised I was appropriately dressed in red and white and looked like Mother Christmas, or maybe that should be ‘Granny Christmas’ ….. note that there’s no beard.
Happy weekend to you all.
Oh! Such a beautiful picture, you and the tree sparkle!
Looking pretty & festive – the tree too! 😉
😘
Don’t forget to write Rommel on one of those gifts. 😀
I fear that they are just empty boxes. 😕
you are looking great!
Thanks so much. I do my best. 🙂
già fatto l’albero? non fai il Presepe? ossantacleopatra io devo ancora fare tutto ed anche mettere le luci fuori in giardino, sono scusata ero fuorie sono arrivata solo stasera.Coplimenti siete bellissimi, tu e l’albero!
I think they wouldn’t do the Nativity scene here at our country club, because most of the members happen to be Jewish. They also have decoration for Hanukkah in the other corner of the foyer.
Mmmm Lady in Red. They must have written it for you. What a luxury to be waiting for Christmas in flip-flops 🙂
Thanks so much, Paula. I’m often a lady in red, and wear flip flops most of the time. 🙂
what a lovely tree. Mine is still in its box and will only see day light from about the 16th.
Yes it’s always beautiful. I don’t put up a tree, unless the grandchildren are here, but they’ve never been to Florida at Christmas. I gave my tree in South Africa to mom’s care home, as they only had a piddly little thing. It brought much joy last year, and I’m sure it’s up again right now. 🙂
You are an elegant lady…
How nice of you to say so, Annette. Thank you. x
Beautiful Sylvia! You look very merry and full of joy!
Thanks, Nicole. 😘
That is indeed a beautiful tree. Are you sure you are not Mrs Santa? Like you said, you are appropriately dressed. 🙂 Have a lovely pre-Christmas period.
Thanks so much, ZL. Well if my hubby will play Santa, I’ll be Mrs, Santa for sure. 🙂
That looks fantastic with you! Have a wonderful Christmas time!
Thanks, Ute. I’m sure we will. Is it cold there in England? Will I need to bring my boots? 😕
you’re beautiful Sylvia! such a lovely photo! 🙂
Thanks so much, Lola. 🙂
Looking lovely and very festive…and that’s just you 😉 xx
Thanks for the lovely comment, Sherri. 🙂 xx
You look perfect by that tree! I love a good flocked tree like that 🙂
Thanks, Kate. 🙂
Such a beauty — and the tree looks good, too.
Thanks so much, John. 😃😘
With or without a beard, you look gorgeous, Sylvia! 😀
Hahaha Thanks, Dianne. 🙂
You look lovely Sylvia!
Thank you kind lady. 🙂
you are as elegant as the tree thoug not as decorated!!
Thanks, Robin. Thank goodness I’m not as decorated. 🙂
Very nice tree with that snowy boughs look.
Yes, they always do a really great Christmas tree here. 🙂
I think you should do a redo with the beard! 🙂
Yeah right!! 😀
Christmas is definitely getting close. And this is a marvellous shot. Great.
Thanks, Otto. 🙂
You make a wonderful Mother Christmas person.
Hehehe. Thanks, Cathy. 🙂
Great photo, and I love how you are dressed to match the tree. 🙂
Thanks, Elaine.I often wear red and white. 🙂
Perfect for the festive season!
Also for Valentine’s Day. 🙂
How very elegant Sylvia !
Time to enjoy those uncovered pinkies for a little longer then before the trip over to UK 😉
Yes a couple of weeks of toe-wiggling freedom still to go. 🙂
It still feels too early for Christmas 🙂
I feel the same, Tandy. I’m never ready for it. 🙂
Today I went to a very special candlelight service that is given yearly at this time to remember those who have passed. I thought of you when I listened to the pianist playing joyful holiday/Christmas music. Christmas is a wonderful time to remember good times, and to celebrate those who have gone before. Thank you for sharing this wonderful photo. You look amazing, as always. 🙂
Thanks so much, Rebecca. That sounds like a really wonderful celebration. 🙂
You look beautiful Sylvia! Like a Christmas ornament yourself. Far too young looking to be Mother Christmas!
Thanks so much for the lovely compliment, Sue. 🙂
Two beauties- but especially you Sylvia!
Thanks so much, Lisa.
That photo should be on the front of your Christmas card, Sylvia. You’re so photogenic. You look beautiful in your red and white! Nothing granny-ish about you! ❤
What a lovely comment, Jill. Thank you so much. 🙂
You make such of lovely Granny Christmas! Even without the beard! 😉
Thanks. Gunta. I don’t even have a mousy ache.
Darn this predictive text! Still I suppose a mousy ache would be even funnier than a moustache. 😃
I love the predictive text… I puzzled over that one and when you sent the explanation it gave me a GREAT laugh!!!!! 😀
Hehehe What fun we have! 😆
You are a perfect match – both beautiful, dressed up in the right colours, he’s a bit taller than you and wearing a perfect beard. And – he’s loaded with presents!
Hahaha. Yes, I guess we make a nice couple. 😘
😉
I’m giggling too, but you do look beautiful, Ad. 🙂 You’re sacrificing all that warmth and glamour for an English Christmas?
Well, what can I say? If I was 102, I’d expect my son to come for Christmas. 😃
When you’re 102 we’ll talk about this 🙂
At least I’ll have newer beds than the 60-year-old single beds we have to sleep in. 😳
Your color choice makes a lovely Christmas photo…Karma working in your favor.
Thanks so much, Charlie. I do enjoy wearing red. 🙂
Appropriately clad, indeed, and a really good-looking tree.
Yes, they always do a great Christmas tree here.
Nope. Christmas trees in a warm climate just do not do it for me. I could never get used to it in South Africa. But you are looking good Sylvia! When do you get to England?
I have to say that I’m not in the Christmas spirit yet. We get to England on 21sr.
I find it harder to enjoy Christmas now. And as the family has got bigger it is harder for us to get together. And I loathe all the commercialism and spend, spend, spend attitude. I was reading something the other day that all this ‘stuff’ we have actually causes depression. Better to do something rather than buy something. I’m opting for a Christmas walk 🙂
Great idea, but old habits die hard with some people. 😰
Lovely tree and yes, I to wear flip flops yet this time of year! Enjoy your holiday in the UK! Cheryl
Thanks so much, Cheryl. 🙂
I love celebrating Christmas in Flip Flops!
It’s the only way. 🙂
Wow…! U r beautiful sylvia… And that snowy tree also…!!!
Thank you so much. 🙂
Nice picture. I’m beginning to feel a bit “Christmas-y”!
How does one feel “a bit Christmas-y?” It’s all or nothing. 😀
Well, it’s the weekend, you see. Now that I’m our of the office, I feel full of the joy of anticipation, but come Monday, I’ll remember I still have a couple of weeks to go. My kids are getting pretty excited on all days and at all hours, though. 🙂
Great photo, Sylvia. I love the tropical flare with fake snow and flip-flops. 🙂
Hahaha Thanks, Jet. I’m actually dreading having to wear closed toe shoes and boots when we go to England at Christmas. My big toe nails just hate being cooped up. 😕
So lovely!
Thanks so much, Anna. 🙂
Lovely:-)
Thanks, Cocoa. 🙂
Beautiful Sylvia – love the photograph! Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks, Mary. 🙂
Beautiful, Granny! 🙂 Have a blessed weekend, Sylvia!
Thanks so much, Dana. 🙂
Ah, happy weekend to you too, Christmas girl! 🙂
Thanks so much, dear Marina. 🙂
You do it very well.Chrismâs comes near.. in a few weeks she’s knocking at the door.
Thanks, Marylou. Yes, it won’t be long now. 🙂
You look good!
Thanks, YC. I think the tree looks better. 🙂
Nop.
😘
You said it before me……but I agree.
A pox on her with a thousand pounds of chocolate cakes and Christmas cookies.
I am so glad that we agreed 🙂
Yikes! You’re meaner than I thought you were. 😆
You’re thinner than I thought you were. lol
Now I can’t stop giggling! 😅
Giggling must be good exercise. Trying it now. Don’t have much hope of losing lbs. 😦
