As we flew into Heathrow a few days before Christmas, I looked down on London with it’s lights twinkling at the crack of dawn.

I must have known that Nancy was going to come up with a ‘Look Down’ Photo a Week Challenge.
Wishing you all a relaxing and happy weekend.
Wonderful photo, Sylvia.
Thank you so much. I was amazed it turned out so well. 🙂
Fantastic shot Sylvia! Love London 🙂 xx
Thanks, Sherri. Me too. 😘
Wow! The photo looks like a painting. Belated happy Christmas and new year!
Epic shot! Like a film maker’s money shot.
Wow! This is high praise indeed. 😃 Thanks, Rommel.
You are the best photo challenge participant in the world. 🙂 This is a great looking down choice. 🙂
I love you too, Marsha. 😘 Thank you. xx
a month later and your entire view might have just been of the snow 🙂
Duuuuude this is a really cool shot!
What an amazing sight and so well captured through a plane window!
This is quite an amazing shot Sylvia!
fabulous view from above Sylvia!
Thanks, Lisa. 🙂
Cool picture Sylvia!
Thanks, Adrian. 🙂
There’s something so beautiful about seeing a city at dawn. I usually take the window seat as well, Sylvia, but I have a friend who always takes the aisle seat for quick access to the loo 😉
I agree with you. I have a hubby who prefers the aisle seat for the same reason, so we’re both happy. 🙂
I love this photo.
Thanks, Amy. 🙂
Don’t you LOVE flying in a window seat? So much to see – here you can see London is an old town, with streets following a meandering, non-linear,non-gridded path. Lovely –
Absolutely have to have a window seat! Very good observation of the way London was built. 😃
Fantastic shot, Sylvia! 😀
Thanks so much, Inga. 🙂
Great shot…looks like a sparkling spiders web✨
Thanks, Seonaid. Yes it does. 🙂
Great shot!! I love looking at cities from the air, but hardly ever have the presence of mind to take a photo.
Thanks so much. Well there wasn’t much else to do, and I had my iPhone handy. 🙂
So many lights!!
Yes, too many to count. 🙂
Gorgeous shot from above. Lucky you got the window seat 😁 London looks like such a big city. Hope you had a good time.
Thanks, Mabel. Hubby always gets me a window seat. 🙂
Amazing Sylvia thanks for sharing
Thanks so much, Jake. 🙂
❤️❤️❤️
I love the way lights from up above looking down from a plane, like diamonds or “stars” on the ground. Beautiful photograph, Sylvia. ♡
Thanks so much, Robin. It certainly was a magical sight. 🙂
I loved when we were with Spanish Club, approaching Madrid from above. Unforgettable, Sylvia. ♡
Glad my photo brought back fond memories fro you, Robin. 🙂
What a cool, amazing sight!
Thanks, Donna. It really perked me up after the long night flight. 😃
a big wow!!!! love it.
Thanks so much, Cybele. 🙂
Great shot, I can never get over looking at a city from the air…amazing!
Thanks, Gerrie. Me too. 🙂
Beautiful all the thousand of little lights
Thanks, Marylou. 🙂
A very nice shot! I flew over to LHR at the crack of dawn too and really like the sight over the city below.
Thanks, YC. Yes it’s really beautiful to see.
What a view! 🙂
Yes it sure is. 😍
There is little more that is as spectacular than looking down on a city at night that is lit and glowing from it’s own light.
Very true, Charlie. I enjoy looking out of the plane window, but not the flight as such. 🙂
Beautiful
Thanks, Sonya. 🙂
I love flying into London in the dark, did you see the ‘EastEnders Bend’?
Gilly, I have absolutely no idea what it is. 😕
Lol, no I suppose not! EastEnders is a dreadful tv soap opera and the opening image is of the bends on the Thames, it’s a great view from above 🙂
My MiL absolutely loves watching it. Coronation Street is her second favourite, and we often joke that she will live as long as they’re still on the go, as she wouldn’t want to miss an episode. 😃
I LOVE looking out plane windows. I find the patterns of the lights just fascinating. Great shot, Sylvia!! ❤
Me too, Amy. The sunrises, sunsets and cloud formations are also amazing. 🙂
Wonderful capture!! 🙂
Thanks, Jackie. 🙂
Brilliant! I really like this.
Thanks so much. It turned out better than I’d hoped. 🙂
What a beautiful shot ~ it does remind me of a glistening spider web. Happy weekend, Sylvia!
Thanks so much, Carol. 🙂
Looks like a big galaxy!
Thanks for this precious pic…
Thanks for your lovely comment, Anna. 🙂
Isn’t it great to snag a window seat. The only thing is I always feel like asking if the outside of the window can be cleaned before we leave so I can get better photos. It looks like your window was very clean.
Yes, I know what you mean about the dirty windows. I wonder what kind of reaction you’d get if you did ask them to clean it. 😕 I was lucky with this one.
Smashing shot!!
Thank you. 🙂
Be Prepared 🙂
Haha. Someone once remarked that I had a photo for every challenge. 🙂
So cool 🙂
Thanks, Andy. 😃
Fantastic pic. Airplane pix can be so hit and miss. Nice take on the challenge. All I can think of is the Monty Python John Cleese line about looking down on people 😀
Thanks, Kate. Oh yes that was a great sketch. Can’t beat the old British comedy. 🙂
Can’t believe how often the Yorkshiremen sketch comes up. Quite funny seeing as I come from Yks and none of them (to my knowledge) did. But yes, old comedy is a great way to
wastespend time. Eeeh things were funny then.Eeh by gum lass, you’re right there. 🙂
Never met anyone who said ‘eeh by gum’!
I knew a lot when I was growing up in Mansfield. 🙂
That might explain it 😉
They also used to say “Ayup me duck” a lot. 🙂
Foreign language to me. Ah’ll stick wi’ t’ four Yorkshiremen.
Okay. 🙂
Very cool shot, Sylvia. Thanks for joining the challenge!
Thanks, Nancy. My pleasure. )
Great shot, Sylvia! Happy Weekend!
Thanks so much, Jill. 🙂
It looks beautiful from the air, doesn’t it? It’s like a spider’s web made of gleaming gold thread.
That’s such a perfect description, Bun. 🙂
Thank you. It was a beautiful scene.
Have a great weekend Sylvia- Cheryl x
Thanks, Cheryl. You too. 🙂
