Mr. GBH is always on the alert, and on those stilt-like legs from this vantage point, I guess he has a very good view of everything that’s going on in the neighbourhood.

I’m also linking this to Nancy’s ‘Photo a Week Challenge’ as her topic for this week is ‘Birds’.
Wishing you all a splendid Sunday. Tonight we’re looking forward to meeting friends at the club for the monthly ‘Sunday Buffet Dinner Extravaganza’ which is always a delicious occasion.
This is my final entry for the ‘7-Day Nature Challenge’ which my blog friend Gilly nominated me to take part in. It’s been a lot of fun and the theme was right up my street. If you would like to join in, then consider yourself nominated by me. The rules are simple; just post a nature photo for seven days and link your post to my blog. You can nominate another blogger each day to also take up the challenge.

i’m a twitcher from way back so i really love this photo of an amazing bird.
The only things on my rooftop are pigeons and they’re hardly as picturesque nor much good at guard duty. 😀
Hahaha. Pigeons are mere chicken feed compared to Mr. GBH. 🙂
love the capture and his stance!
Thanks, Cybele. He’s so elegant. 🙂
Ha, you have no dearth of captivating subjects do you Sylvia? 🙂 Hope the dinner extravaganza was fun.
That’s for sure, Madhu. The dinner date was exceptional and we had lots of delicious fun. 🙂
He’s a great look-out, Sylvia! I hope you had fun at the Sunday Buffet Dinner Extravaganza! 😀
Thanks, Dianne. We had a great evening with friends and their friends who were visiting fro N. Carolina. We got on like a house on fire. The husband is also a DIY fanatic. 😃
he looks so proud being up there, Sylvia! 🙂 great capture! hope you had a wonderful evening! 🙂
Thanks Lola. Yes, we did enjoy our evening. We met new friends and enjoyed a wonderful meal. 🙂
He is just making sure everyone is doing fine! 😀
Yes, I think so too. 🙂
lol…too cute, as they say, he has a “bird’s eye” view!
Haha. Love that, Heather. 🙂
😉
This is a poster quality photo, Sylvia. Have it printed, framed and put it on your wall!
Thanks so much for the lovely compliment, Paula. I don’t have many walls yet in the living area. Hubby is still busy with the ceilings. 😀
That will give you enough time to organise printing and framing 🙂
😀
What a great neighbor to have, a great capture x
Yes, I agree. Thanks, Jane. 🙂
Thanks for taking part Sylvia, I knew Mr GBH would be pleased to help 🙂
My pleasure, Gilly. Thanks for asking me. Mr. GBH has been quite co-operative since we moved here. 🙂
Definitely keeping a close watch or perhaps wondering where Mr A could possibly be.
Yes I think you may be right, Sue. I wish he could tell me how Mr. A is doing. 😕
LOL Sylvia, he looks like a living sundial!!!
Haha I love that, Tina. 🙂
Ha, there he is! I’ve never seen any of mine on a roof but I’ve seen them roosting in one certain tree. That roof is just like the one on my parents’ Arizona house.
janet
First time I’ve seen him up there, Janet. I guess he just needed to check the whole area out. 🙂
Great shot for the challenge. Is that the roof of the new house, or a previous shot at the old one?
Thanks, Gunta. The roof is on a house just across the water from our new house. Our new roof is natural clay tiles and is much redder.
There is nothing quite like wild life using houses as viewing platforms!
Hehehe Well, I suppose he thinks that’s what the houses were built for. 🙂
On alert-hyper-vigilant …Have a great night!
Thanks, Cheryl. We sure did. It was a delicious evening. 🙂 x
Mr. GBH looks like he takes his duties very seriously. Enjoy you evening out, Sylvia.
Thanks, Carol. It was a great evening and the food was delicious. 🙂
Someone is looking out for you!!!
I’m so happy about that, Rebecca. 🙂 xx
He find a good place to look all over the street
That’s for sure. 😀
It seems as if there is something interesting going on out there. I hope you have a nice dinner.
Thanks so much, ZL. Yes, something has caught his attention. Maybe he’s protecting his territory. 🙂
Everything’s excellet in this capture…
Apart the “Primadonna”GBH ,(fabulous) I love the composition , the tile design , the colours in your photo….
Amazing!
Thanks so much, Anna. So happy you enjoyed my photo. 🙂 x
On sentry duty, and proud of it!
Nice.
Thanks so much, Ruth. 🙂
… and I think the sparrows on our roof make a lot of noise – I bet you’d hear one of those landing! http://eco-gites.blogspot.fr/
Thanks, Rosie. Yes I would think so too. In South Africa we had monkeys running over our roof. Used to wake us up in the morning. 😅
Love this shot, Mr GBH looks very pleased with himself 😀
Thanks so much, Sue. He always looks pleased with himself. 🙂
😀😀
This tickled me, I love seeing a GBH perched in a unique, not-often-seen location. Most definitely a great vantage point! 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed this. Donna. 🙂
Amazing shot. Thanks for joining the challenge!
Thanks, Nancy. My pleasure. 🙂
Grand creatures they are, Sylvia; like statues.
Exactly so, Tom. 🙂
I sure wouldn’t mind having his job, Sylvia! 🙂
Haha I think you might need a hat, and also a ladder to get up there. 😀
Mr. GBH seems to enjoy his look-out shift 🙂 Nothing like having a good overview of things!
Absolutely! He like to keep an eye out. 🙂
What stories he could tell!
Ha…..Yes, I guess he could. Wish I could speak his language. Maybe I’d write a book about this community’s comings and goings. I’m sure it would be a bestseller. 😀
He is such a gorgeous beauty Sylvia and he definitely made sure he can see everything that goes on around him. Excellent capture and enjoy the buffet! 😀 ♥
Thanks, Sonel. Yes I think he’s the Big Boss around here. 🙂 xx
Smashing picture Sylvia. Enjoy your evening! 🙂
Thanks so much, Adrian. 🙂
I bet he gets a great view high up there
Thank you for linking up
Thanks Darren. I’m sure he doesn’t miss a trick. 🙂
Jy het nie ‘n wekker nodig
Haha. I don’t hear anything through the double glazing. 😀
I would like to see him also carry a cell phone ready to call 911.
Please have a great Sunday and have fun at the event!
Hehehe Love your comment, YC. Maybe our neighbourhood could pay him a monthly fee. 🙂
A Crime Watch GBH 🙂
Definitely a great idea! He can get up high, so no-one will escape his gaze. 🙂
What a wonderful lookout!! I can’t get over him standing on a roof like that- such an awesome sight! 🙂
Thanks, Lisa. Mr. GBH is a very nosy bird, and doesn’t like to miss anything. 🙂
LOL…great post Sylvia!
Thanks, Dawn. 🙂
