“Step with care and great tact, and remember that Life’s a great balancing act.” ~ Dr Seuss
Ailsa has some great photos for her Travel Theme Balance this week. Here are a few of mine.
Woody wood stork obviously has a good head for heights and a great sense of balance.
I really admire the amazing ability to balance on a surf board when surrounded by huge waves.
This beach vendor in Umhlanga has a great sense of balance too.
I know some of you have seen this one before, but I cant resist popping it in for the theme. Balance doesn’t get much better than this, does it?
At the moment, hubby is doing his own balancing act up on the scaffold.
Now I’m off to balance a few weights at the gym. Wishing you all a perfectly balanced Tuesday.

I remember those pics. We’ve been blogging friends too long, GEEZ!!! 😀
Far too long, Rommel, but you didn’t see hubby balancing on the scaffold before. 🙂
I already had that mental picture 🙂 from a post not so long ago.
😀
Sylvia, excellent entry …. great bunch of images .. here I can see how the house is coming along. He is a fantastic job.
Thanks, VIveka. Yes, he’s doing just great. Still much to do though. 🙂
Can’t wait to see the finished house.
Me too. 🙂
Great post Sylvia!
Thanks, Aletta. 🙂

Loving the husband from atop his ladder, the wood stork and the colorful native carrying things, Sylvia! 🙂 Wow, balancing such interesting topic thru your lens!!
Thanks, Robin. So glad you enjoyed these. 🙂
I do not have a good balance, I hit all the time myself. The Woody wood stork is amazing !
Thanks, Ellada. Yes Woody is very a well-balanced stork indeed. 🙂
Good ones, very cool!
Thanks, Josée. 🙂
Excellent balancing acts, especially your husband on the scaffold! Your house is coming along beautifully, Sylvia. Good luck with it all. 🙂 We’re getting ready for demolition on our kitchen and laundry room on Monday, the 18th. Our contractors demolished our deck this past Monday and are starting construction on a screened-in porch and deck today! It’s fun to see these transformations, isn’t it? 🙂
Thanks, Cathy. Sounds like you’ll also be having lots of mess and dust. Good luck. It will be worth it. 🙂 xx
The big mess begins Monday. I’m hoping the contractors can take a picture of me swinging the hammer to begin the demolition! 🙂
Hehehe That would be fun. You can get rid of any frustrations you may have. Watch out for ‘Cathy the Demolisher’. 😀
All very great takes on the theme!! Love the guy on the pole.
Thanks, badfish. Yes, he was a really awesome character. 😀
Perfect selections for the challenge Sylvia. They are all so good at it, especially your hubby, working so hard to keep the love of his life happy. Now that is quite a balancing act for them to do. 😆
Thanks so much, Sonel. Yes and he’s very good at it. 😀 xx
Do you know what day of the week you were born? Just a silly question :). I have a silly tune on my mind (balancer, balancer – or it may be some other word I am confused about, in any case I can’t get it out of my head). You have charmed us again with birds, hats and the rest. Hope you were careful at the gym.
Hi Paula……..I was born on a Monday. So glad you enjoyed my photos. Yes, I was careful at the gym, and may go again today. 🙂 Happy Wednesday. xx
I was born on a Monday too, sister 😀 Happy Wednesday, and I know you are the member of the month, but please don’t overdo it. xx
😘💐
😆 that’s why we are fair of face 😉
😎👯
Love your emoticons 🙂
Yes me too. They’re fun. 🙂
Great gallery for this theme Sylvia, but the prize has to go to hubby…
Thanks, Pauline. I so agree with you. He’s up there again. 🙂
There’s obviously some fine balancing going on in your part of the world. Now, if some of those people could just take a quick look at my bank account.
Hahaha. Very funny, Bun. 😆
You did a great balancing act with your cool pictures, Sylvia! And your hubby is balancing his priorities really well in getting your house ready!
Thanks so much, Helen. Yes, he’s doing a great job. 🙂
Being that I’ve been known to trip over the tiniest of cracks in the walkway, I’m amazed at the balancing in your photos, especially the flag impersonator. Incredible!
Oh dear! Yes the flag man could teach us all a thing or two. 😀 Thanks John.
Love that first shot, but the human flag wins for most incredible.
janet
Thanks, Janet. I was lucky to get that shot. Right place, right time again. 🙂
Hope you had a good work out balancing of some form 🙂 I know balancing your self on the surf board is hard.
Yes I did thanks. I’ve never tried surfing, but I’m sure it’s more difficult than ice skating and I was rubbish at that. 😀
I love these pics and always enjoy seeing the man on the pole! lol. I think I’ll balance a glass of wine in my hand soon 😀
Thanks, Dianne. That sounds like a much easier option. 🙂
wow how is that possible with the guy hanging sideways from the pole?? Of course my favorite is the first one 🙂
Thanks, Lisa. I believe it’s all to do with core muscle strength. He didn’t have an ounce of fat on him. I think he was all muscle even at almost 50-years-old. 🙂
Gotta love that vendor! Fun photos.
Thanks Victoria. Glad you enjoyed. 🙂
A well-balanced mix, indeed!
Thanks, Col. 🙂
Excellent choices for the theme
– and excellent captured… 🙂
Thanks so much, Drake. 🙂
Wow, balance is everything!
Hi Cecilia. Thanks for popping in here. 🙂
The human flag photo takes some incredible core strength. Hope you practiced that at the gym Sylvia. 🙂
Oh yes, every day Sue. 😆
Excellent. I shall look forward to the photos!
Ooops! 😳
I think what your hubby is doing is amazing!
Me too, Gilly. He’s a great ‘one-man-band’. 😀
The best is Hubby’s, no doubt
While congratulating him , a lot of “claps” for your incredible series of photos!
Thanks, Anna. Hubby smiled when I told him that you applauded his efforts. 🙂 x
Did you use the balance beam at the gym?
There isn’t one, but I stood on one leg for a minute. 😆
A lot of different sort of balance
Thanks, Marylou. Glad you liked them. 🙂
hehehe… vandag glimlag ek hier by jou!
That’s good, Tina. 😀
great photos Sylvia! seeing that guy on the pole again still amazes me!. Hubby, too! 🙂 wow!
Thanks Lola. Me too. 🙂
Good collection of various perspectives on balance. Woody made me laugh.
Woody says “Here’s looking at you Frank.” 😀
I 💛💛💛 Dr Seuss! He inspired me to balance my life!! Always a joy to see your amazing photos!
Thanks, Rebecca. Yes Seuss was such a wise man. 🙂
Can I surf? 🙂 I’m sure you know the answer to that, Ad. Funny how you never see surfers wearing water wings, isn’t it? 🙂 Poor old hubby! The things you do for love. 🙂
That would be me too, Jo. Water wings are so undignified especially on grownups. Hubby is having fun, believe it or not. 🙂
Great photos for the theme. The guy on the pole is amazing isn’t he.
Thanks, Karen. Yes he was so awesome, and very friendly too. 🙂
LOVE this post, Sylvia! You and your husband have to be exhausted by now. After we finished building our house, I said never again. Take good care of you and hubby!!! ❤
Thanks so much, AmyRose. I’ve said never again a few times, but one can never say never. 😀
There is a saying …. never say never for it shall happen again. *sigh* Did I just shoot myself in the foot? I hope not. When it comes to downsizing a nice comfy, quiet condo comes in mind with a small backyard where I can still garden. Yep, sounds perfect. 🙂 ❤
I do like my space, Amy, and I dare say you do too. 🙂
Yes I most certainly do. There are days I can’t get out of my own house fast enough for it seems there is a cat underneath my feet no matter where I go. When we built this house it seemed huge. Now? Too small. When my babes are gone this house will be too big and I will then be ready to get into a very private, quiet condo. My privacy means a lot to me, Sylvia. I believe the same holds true for you. You’d rather have critters for neighbors then people. I totally get you!!! 🙂 ❤
Critters are much less complicated. 😅
🐾🐾🐾
sounds like you have everything in balance in your life – work, play, write. Have a great week! 🙂
Thanks, Marsha. I just need a few more hours in the day, as I’m sure we all do. 🙂
Nooooo, really? 🙂
Mr C still hard at it! Have a wonderful Tuesday yourself Sylvia! Always nice to see your sunny pictures that said, Cornwall is beautiful in the spring sunshine today! 🙂
Thanks so much, Adrian. I’m happy that you have a sunny day there. 🙂
Great photos, Sylvia! How in the world can that guy hang on that pole? Wow!
He was an Olympic gymnast in his younger days, and obviously practice makes perfect. 🙂
Wow…really? 🙂
The human flag will always intrigue me, some serious core going on there 😮
Yes me too, Andy. I was lucky that he was willing to repeat it so I could get a photo. 🙂
Repeat it at that! wow! I can’t even do yoga right let alone that lol
He was just stretching after a 3km run. 😀
I’ll stretch over a nice cold drink after heh 🙂
