After eating a delicious Mother’s Day lunch yesterday, we decided to go for a wander around our local nature reserve. A little later this week, I’ll show you more photos of the wondrous things we saw,Β but for Jithin’s ‘Mundane Monday’ challenge, here’s something we saw from the boardwalk. We hadn’t had any rain for quite some time until a few days ago, and you can see how the mud had dried out and cracked, but whose footprints are these?Β Mundane or mystery? They’re too far apart for a human, and don’t look like they were made by a bird. Tomorrow I’ll show you my theory.
Wishing you all a very happy week ahead.

Your backyard is full of mysteries. Now here too!! You live in a mysterious place for sure π
Anyway I’m heading over the next post.:D
Yes, so many mundane but interesting things. π
Indeed they are interesting. π
No mystery… it’s Bigfoot π
Hahaha Mystery solved single-handedly by Paula! π
Haha…that is a mystery! Love it π xx
The footprints look like a kid’s footprints since they look rather crooked. I would not have guessed what your husband says on the next post. I won’t ruin it, by letting the “cat out of the bag!” Hope you had a wonderful week and soon will be enjoying a nice weekend! π
Thanks, Robin. Happy weekend to you too. π xx
Hmm . . . can’t wait to hear your theory, Sylvia!
π
Intriguing! I was thinking of Mr. A but there’s no tail-drag prints….. π¦
Yes, I also noted the lack of tail-drag, but in my determination for them not to be boring old human footprints, I told myself that the tail-drag wasn’t very deep and had just disappeared when the water came back. π
Great thinking! π
π
That is a fun and intriguing photo. Maybe extraterrestrial footprints?
Thanks, Otto. Oh yes, I rather like your idea. π
Quite intriguing I’ll wait with baited breath for all to be revealed tomorrow
Thanks, Pauline. Hope I can come up with something. π
You will π
Looking forward to your theory …
If I should guess at something I belive itΒ΄s human prints in some way …
Hugs to you Sylvia! // Maria π
Hugs to you and Yarri, Maria. π
Spuren im Sand kann vieles sein lieber GruΓ und Umarmung Gislinde
Yes, they can be whatever we want them to be, Gislinde. π Happy Tuesday my friend. xx
Ducks? Hehehehe – I don’t know what they are π
Hahaha. Could be a new species of ducks with none-webbed feet. π
A man on stilts?
Very inventive, Tandy. π
beh, ecco la souspence di Sylvia…sono curiosa della tua teoria π
Haha Well, you know me and my animal stories, Annalisa, π
Highly suspect whatever it turns out to be. They either come together (the prints) at the right edge or they make a u-turn and return the way they came is my thinking.
Yes, very suspect indeed, Gunta. A mystery which needs to be solved, methinks. π
can’t wait!
Hehehe Oh dear, I’m going to have to dream up something really good after all this suspense. π
The foot prints were of two people instead of one person’s far a part?
Oh, that’s not very exciting at all. π¦
I am sorry. I just want to guess π¦
Well, I won’t hold it against you if we disagree. π
I love mysteries! I look forward to reading your theory. π
Me too, Jackie. I’m probably completely wrong. π
Then again – you could be right! π
π
I love a good mystery — and this certainly looks like one! π
Yes, me too. π
Interesting…
Mmm… that’s what I thought. π
It looks to me like there’s a pair of whatever they are, which is fine if they are harmless. More worrying if it is Mr A and his mate.
Hehehe I wish I knew for sure what or who made these footprints. π
Until you find out for sure, I think you should be looking over your shoulder when you go walking. I don’t like the thought of these mystery creatures sneaking up from behind.
Yikes! π―
Could it be Mr A? Got a bit of a wibble there.
It’s not an impossibility is it? π
I’m very curious!
See you tomorrow..
π
What a wonderful mystery!
So delicious, hey? π
Klein voetjies?
I think they were too big to be children and it’s too dangerous for little ones, or even adults to be down among the wildlife.
Scary!
Is it an alligator? What clear water!
Haha. Well tomorrow, I’ll show you what I think it was.
Very strange !
That’s what I thought. π
Looks like two, rather young people – maybe a couple? π
The public isn’t allowed down there at all.
Hmmm….. π€
Very,very special
Thanks. Glad you like this. π
Have a great week Sylvia – I’m wondering what these footsteps could possibly have been made from.
Thanks, Mary. Me too. π
Hmmm I would love to have a closer look. Obviously it had been very dry indeed with those massive cracks.
Yes, I hadn’t realised just how dry it’s been until I saw this. The level in our lake had dropped quite a bit, but there’s still lots of water in it.
I don’t think the footsteps are apart at all, Sylvia – it seems it’s just one set commencing from the lower left and walking to the right, and then doubling back (along the higher line) after turning.
I see what you mean, Hariod. Hubby suggested that. Then it would have to be one of the workers there, and I’ve never seen any around.
They’re heeerrrreee. π
janet
Finally!! π
2 running Kids…
Not very likely though. π
I don’t know – but that’s really neat!!
Thanks, Kate. I don’t know for sure either. π
I’m stumped! Great photo, Sylvia.
Thanks, Jill. π
This could be a start to a mystery movie….
Yes it could, Laurie. Mystery footprints in the swamps. π―
very interesting…the cracked look is fascinating! I look for ward to hearing what you think made those foot prints…
Thanks, Heather. I thought it would make for an interesting photo. π
Great shot!
It looks like TWO sets of human footprints to me or maybe two creatures from the black lagoon walking side by side.
Quite possibly, Nancy……either option. π
mysterious! oh I can’t wait for tomorrow’s post π π
Thanks, Lola. Stay tuned. π
That’s a fun mystery, Sylvia — looking forward to your theory. π
Hehehe I may be wrong, but you can tell me if you agree. π
Me too dear Sylvia, I really want to know your theory π Thank you, have a nice day and new week, Love, nia
Haha. I love keeping you in suspense. π
Crazy! Can’t wait to hear your theory. I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day, Sylvia. π
Thanks, Cathy. I had a great Mother’s Day. Hope you did too. π
Yes, it was wonderful, Sylvia. My kids weren’t here, but I’ll see them all tomorrow at Sarah’s graduation from VCU. Mike gave me a very special treat. π
That sounds really great. Have a fantastic weekend. :0 xx
Dinosaurs obviously. Probably the species, Doyouthinkhesaurus.
Oh yes, obviously! Why didn’t I thinkhesaurus of that? π
Inebriated human? π
Haha, I doubt it. The park closes well before dark, and to get down there, you’d have to fall or jump over a four foot fence.
Both things well within the capability of a human in such a condition…..anyway, no doubt you have a wobble-gaited mammal in mind!
Hmmm….. I love the adjective “wobble-gaited.” π
Glad you do, Sylvia!
