My Sunday Photo: What a view!

Last Monday we went into New York to the One World Trade Center and also went to the top of the Observation Tower. What a great view from 102 floors up! Here looking down at the Hudson River, you can see Ellis Island which houses the historic Immigration Museum, and to the left, Liberty Island on which stands the iconic Statue of Liberty.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

  1. What an incredible view Sylvia…even though heights make me nervous, yikes! I’m sure you had a wonderful time with your family and a lovely weekend too πŸ™‚ xx

  2. When I had my interview for my US Naturalization, I was asked where the Statue of Liberty is.
I answered, “It’s in the United States.” Bwahahaha πŸ˜€
    What a great overlooking view!

  3. This makes the Statue of Liberty look like the size of an ant! Sylvia, this is such a stunning scene! I am amazed at the clarity, too. πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing!

  4. I wonder if I’d experience altitude sickness up there. You wouldn’t believe how far I went out of my way to avoid NYC (been there, done that, wasn’t thrilled) when I drove back East. But so happy you enjoyed the visit!

  5. My but it looks pretty! πŸ™‚ One of my lady friends is off there again on Thursday. Bike hire in Central Park is on the agenda this trip. Wish I was walking behind her 😦

  6. A great view. A visit to 1WTC is on my list – we haven’t been to NY since before it was finished, so it’s definitely a must-do.

  7. The views are just fantastic-The 9/11 has a significant serious meaning to my generation. As I have been and also know that my Ancestors (paternal) road to Freedom from Crete, Greece landed on Ellis Island. Liberty and Justice for All! Have a safe Memorial Day S…xx

  8. Last year I went with my brother and his daughters/my nieces to the new WTC observatory and the views were great! I am glad you also got to experience it.

  9. My favorite vistas are seashores and mountain tops . . . with none of man’s “progress” blocking the view.

Glad you enjoyed your visit to NYC.

  10. A splendid view. Thanks, Sylvia. Yes one should use the opportunities given, and take a shot, or else later there would be the …. “O had I only done it..will theree be another opportunity?”
