Last Monday we went into New York to the One World Trade Center and also went to the top of the Observation Tower. What a great view from 102 floors up! Here looking down at the Hudson River, you can see Ellis Island which houses the historic Immigration Museum, and to the left, Liberty Island on which stands the iconic Statue of Liberty.
Have a great Sunday everyone.
That is a stunning view! That visit is still on my bucket list.
Thanks, Helen. I’m so glad we went there. 🙂
What an incredible view Sylvia…even though heights make me nervous, yikes! I’m sure you had a wonderful time with your family and a lovely weekend too 🙂 xx
Yes it was great to look down from such a height. We had a great time away. 🙂
So glad… 🙂 xx
You are making me homesick for my old stomping grounds with that view. Glad you had an enjoyable trip.
Yes, we had a wonderful few days with the family, and it was great to get into the city for a day’s sightseeing.
When I had my interview for my US Naturalization, I was asked where the Statue of Liberty is.
I answered, “It’s in the United States.” Bwahahaha 😀
What a great overlooking view!
Thanks, Rommel. I’m sure your answer was correct. 😆
This makes the Statue of Liberty look like the size of an ant! Sylvia, this is such a stunning scene! I am amazed at the clarity, too. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Robin. Glad you enjoyed the photo. 🙂
Wonderful, expansive photo, Sylvia — and a beautiful day, too.
Thanks, Jet. Yes, it was a gorgeous day for it. 🙂
That’s a stunning panorama! Of all the places in the US, NYC is one that excites me the most.
Thanks, Madhu. I have to agree with you. I wouldn’t want to live there though.
Stunning view! #mysundayphoto
Thanks, Merlinda. 🙂
I wonder if I’d experience altitude sickness up there. You wouldn’t believe how far I went out of my way to avoid NYC (been there, done that, wasn’t thrilled) when I drove back East. But so happy you enjoyed the visit!
I guess you either love it or hate it. I wouldn’t want to live there, but always enjoy visiting. So much to see, and I find the people fascinating to watch.
I love NYC! What a view! Enjoy. 😊
Me too, Lisa. 🙂
That is a great view, Sylvia.
Thanks, Tom. I can thoroughly recommend it. 🙂
I went to NY years ago and visited the WTC, but didn’t get to see your view… I must have been looking the other way as usual! 😀
😀 We went to the restaurant at the top of the WTC in June 2011. I never imagined that it would be gone so soon after.
102 floors !!!! ok. I’m sick now, to high for me :-p
I’m sure that if I could just get you up there, you’d also enjoy the view. 🙂
My but it looks pretty! 🙂 One of my lady friends is off there again on Thursday. Bike hire in Central Park is on the agenda this trip. Wish I was walking behind her 😦
Yes, some really pretty views from up there, Jo. In Central Park, pedestrians really have to beware of the cyclists and rollerbladers. They neither stop nor slow down for anyone. 😯
They’d be safe from me! My pedal power is non existent 🙂
Schöne Landschaft liebe Grüße und Umarmung Gislinde
Thanks so much, Gislinde. 🙂 xx
Stunning view indeed Sylvia!
It was wonderful to walk around the tower and see all the different views. There were also guides who showed videos and explained what all the buildings and bridges were. Very interesting indeed.
I bet it was Sylvia! NY is on my bucket list! 🙂
When you do get there, I can guarantee that your camera will never rest. 🙂
Wow, lady Liberty does not look so big from this view!
Yes, she looks so small from up there. 🙂
That is a spectacular view. When my daughter and I were in NYC last year the tower had not yet opened.
Thanks, Sue. We were so happy to be able to experience this. 🙂
Wow!!!!
Yes it was. 🙂
Now that’s a view! Wow!!!! … and it also appears the day was beautiful.
Yes it was a perfect day, Frank. We were so lucky with the weather the whole time we were there. 🙂
I would have never made it 102 stories up. What a great view, Sylvia!
Thanks, Carol. There’s nothing to it. You just hop in the elevator and up you go. 🙂
Yeah, I could handle the elevator. What I can’t stand is the height once I’m at the top. Yet I’m not afraid to fly ~ strange, I know.
Yes, that is very strange and inexplicable, Carol. 🙂
That IS a great view! Glad you were able to check that out.
Yes, me too. 🙂
A truly fantastic view! one I will never see myself – thank you for sharing it!
Thanks, Ann Christine. You can never say “never.” 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this photo, Sylvia…I’m not sure I would have made it to the top. 🙂
Once you got in the lift, you would have no choice. 😅
Wow – that’s a long way up, Sylvia. What a fantastic view! 😀
Yes, we spent quite a while up there. So much to see. 🙂
Stunning! I’ve only been to NYC once, 11 years ago. I wish I had taken more photos…
Thanks, Sarah. It’s such an amazing city, One could take photos non-stop. 🙂
I love going somewhere high up in a big city and trying to pick out the landmarks I know. What a great view you had up there.
Yes, me too, although hubby is much better at picking out landmarks than I am, as he knows which is North and which is South. 😀
Mr ET is the same. It must be a man thing.
Yes, that’s my excuse too. 😀
The colour of that water is soo beautiful!! Clio lending a helping hand for Coombe Mill
Yes it is. Thanks so much for visiting, Clio. 🙂
Some of us only see these sights in pictures. What a thrill to really be there.
I feel very privileged to have been there, both before and after 911. The museum visit is exceptionally moving, as you can imagine.
A great view. A visit to 1WTC is on my list – we haven’t been to NY since before it was finished, so it’s definitely a must-do.
Thanks, Tim. I hope you get to see it soon. 🙂
What a fantastic view and I didn’t know that Ellis Island was quite that tiny.
Thanks, Gilly. Ellis Island is only 27.5 acres and was once a fort before it became the immigration processing centre.
Really, What a lovely view!
Thanks, Vikey. 😃
The views are just fantastic-The 9/11 has a significant serious meaning to my generation. As I have been and also know that my Ancestors (paternal) road to Freedom from Crete, Greece landed on Ellis Island. Liberty and Justice for All! Have a safe Memorial Day S…xx
Thanks for your inspiring comment, Cheryl. xx
My pleasure dear one-Be safe! xx

102 floors up….brrrrrrrrrrrrr.But the view is gorgeous.
Yes, it’s a long way up and they say it’s the fastest lift in the world. 🙂
Wow what a view, I would love to visit New York one day
Thank you for linking up
My pleasure, Darren. Yes NYC is definitely a Bucket List destination. We’ve been there many times, but there’s always something new to see.
Last year I went with my brother and his daughters/my nieces to the new WTC observatory and the views were great! I am glad you also got to experience it.
It was a great experience. Did you also go to the museum? I’ll post some photos of it next week.
If you are referring to the 9/11 Museum, the answer is no.
My favorite vistas are seashores and mountain tops . . . with none of man’s “progress” blocking the view.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to NYC.
I love those too, Nancy. It was nice to look down on Ellis Island and Lady Liberty and remember when we took our mothers to visit them. 🙂
A splendid view. Thanks, Sylvia. Yes one should use the opportunities given, and take a shot, or else later there would be the …. “O had I only done it..will theree be another opportunity?”
Yes, indeed. We went up to the top of the Twin Towers in June 2011, and if we hadn’t done it then, there would definitely not have been another chance. 😕
Fantastic, Sylvia!
Thanks, Anna. I’m so glad we went up there. 🙂
Very nice picture. I love the high vantage point view.
Thanks, YC. Yes, it felt like we were on top of the world up there.
Quite a view, Sylvia.
janet
Yes it was. 🙂
What an astounding view Sylvia!
Yes it was so worth going up there. 🙂
You’re right. What a view! Happy Sunday, Sylvia. 🙂
Thanks, Cathy. Happy Memorial Day weekend. 🙂
