Mundane Monday: Another week, another ceiling.

Life is quite mundane for hubby at the moment, as every day he has to work on the house renovations. He did get quite excited about the tin ceiling panels he’s put up in the TV room though.

Today he’s working on a similar one in the kitchen area. All the appliances and cupboards have been ordered and are on their way, so “Time is of the essence!” as I keep reminding him. πŸ™‚

If you happen to have a mundane photo to share, pop over to Jithin at Photrablogger and enter his ‘Mundane Monday Challenge’.

Wishing you all an interesting and a very happy week.

  2. I am really anxious to see how that tin ceiling looks once it’s painted. Definitely not something I would have thought of. What? I can’t believe the ceiling in the TV room comes before your kitchen being finished! πŸ˜‰

  3. I have never seen a man working on house renovations wearing such a wide smile, They usually curse, or complain or just drink beer πŸ˜€ Good for him, and good on you!

  4. I had to look up the origins of a tin ceiling as I have never come across one. Seems they were popular in North America in the 1880s and also Australia and South Africa. They sure add some glamour and style to the ‘fifth wall’ and your hubby is a star doing all the work by himself. So once they are painted is that it? Or do they need regular painting like plaster ceilings?

  5. That stunning pressed metal ceiling is anything but mundane, Sylvia. It may have been a mistake to put it in the TV room though. I think you will spend your time admiring the ceiling instead of paying attention to the TV!

  6. Mundane?? Au contraire Sylvia! Having finished our renovation not too long ago, I can say that this beautiful ceiling panel and its installation is definitely NOT mundane. Very cool. I’d like to see the finished product. ~James

  7. Very mundane, Sylvia, unless you happen to be the one in the midst of it – right? Looks like quite a project. I’m glad it’s not my mundane life! We are about to start on the kitchen, but I do not expect such major renovations! πŸ™‚

  8. If that’s mundane, I”ll eat every bit of that glorious ceiling!! Your husband is a gem (as are you, in a completely different way) and you may tell him so from me.

  9. He’s doing a good job. When I was younger I could hang fans and change out electrical sockets..would never have attempted what he’s doing.

  10. Mr C has been working like a trojan and it will all pay off.. you’ll be enjoying your finished new home before you know it Sylvia. It’s all looking so good.
