I thought I’d stick with Nature for Ailsa’s Travel Theme ‘Pairs’.
This morning, just across from my bathroom window, Lennie Limpkin and Iggy spent a long time chatting together
Here’s a demanding pair of juvenile Anhingas, both vying for mom’s attention.
A pair of lovebirds. Mr. GBH whispering sweet nothings into his lady’s ear.
The Black-Bellied Whistling Duck says, “It’s no good telling me that they’re too big. This is the only pair I have.”
Wishing you all a happy week. To join in with Ailsa’s Travel Theme, just click the link.
Awwww …. π
Love the commentary! π
Thanks, Liz. π
The Limpkin is so adorable! I need one! Great pairs.
Lennie L. sure looks young and soft in his feathers, and I absolutely loved the ducks “too big” feet which he will have to “keep” since they came with him. π π Sylvia, you crack me up!
The other night my friend and I watched the “Spy” movie (from the library but redbox may have it still ) with Melissa McCarthy and Jude Law. There is a woman in it, who usually is quite awkward in a PBS show called, “Call the Midwife.” Anyway, she becomes a great ally and spy with Melissa’s character. I laughed and just wanted to say it wasn’t a mean comedy nor raunchy. π
Hehehe Yes, I’m afraid poor little duck is stuck with those huge flippers. π Thanks for the movie tip. π xx
Well done.Great choices.
Thanks, Marylou. π
Those juvenile Anhingas are absolutely gorgeous, Sylvia. Great shots all round! π
Thanks, Dianne. Yes, the Anhinga family are so lovely. π
Oh how sweet Sylvia, these put a smile on my face
Thanks, Kathy. That makes me happy too. π
Beautiful – loving the photo of the juvenile Anhingas:)
Thanks, Inger. π
“Engaging.” What a great word to describe your captures here. All such beautiful pairs – even the mixed couple. π
Thanks so much, John. You are so generous with your comments. π
Fun
Thanks, Derrick. π
The most amazing bathroom window in the world strikes again!
Hehehe Thanks, Anabel. I’m renting out space. π
Sylvia not only are these spectacular images but your narrative will have me giggling all day. Happy week to you!
I’m tickled pink to hear that, Sue. π―π
Missed those birdies
I would too. π
Wonderful photos. That last duck in particular is adorable. π
Thanks so much, Miriam. Yes he really is. π
Quite right, quite right, whistling Duck.
Haha Thanks, Ann. π
I like Lenny and Iggy best π
They were so cute to watch together. π
Ahh cute, and a beautiful, touching picture of the Anhingas!
Thanks, Gilly. π
The big duck feet are so fun!
And the post is a great nature highlight with those glorious Florida birds!
Xxoo
Thanks so much, Yvette. Glad you enjoyed. π

How beautiful and peaceful they seem to be. Humans can learn.
Yes, that’s for sure, Dilip.
The poor old Black-Bellied Whistling Duck seems to have put someone else’s feet on by mistake.
Hehehe Sure looks like it. π
You have so much nature around you!!
Thanks, Sherry. I feel very blessed. π
Lovely captures. Your bathroom window has some of the coolest views!! π
Thanks, Jackie. π
Ha ha! llove the Black-Bellied Whistling duck, I sure hope he grows into those flippers! All the photos are really interesting, but especially Lennie Limpkin and Iggy, imagine those two tolerating each other….wildlife is endlessly fascinating.
Thanks, Gerrie. Yes, those flippers are really outsize for such a little chap. I so agree about the “fascinating.”
That is funny – ” This is the only pair I have”. π
I have been wondering when to see Mr. and Mr. Iggy meeting one day. The picture today is close.
Hehe……..Yes, they were almost touching. It was funny to watch them for maybe half an hour. π
Iggy’s hoping that Lennie’s eyes aren’t bigger than his stomach!
They seemed to be such good friends. Little Iggy sat gazing up at Lennie, for ages, watching him preening himself. I think they were both quite fascinated with one another. π
I think they are 4th cousins, twice removed. π
π
Sylvia these are all just so wonderful and I love your captions!! You should really put a book together. I find all this wildlife outside your window quite remarkable!
Thanks so much, Lisa. I don’t think my photos are good enough to put in a book, and I wouldn’t have the faintest idea how to go about it. π
Ad, these are so beautiful! I thought I liked the first best, but then I couldn’t choose. π
Thanks, Jo. Glad you liked them all. π
Cute pairs … beautifully captured Sylvia π
Thanks so much, Val. π
Oh Sylvia, what a wonderful view you have every day. At first I wondered if Lennie Limpkin was sizing Iggy up as a potential meal, but I decided he probably wouldn’t want to be picking those spiky bits out of his teeth all day! π
Hahaha Yes, I don’t think that Iggy is quite Lennie’s cup of tea. They seem to exist quite happily together. Iggy chews the grass and Lennie eats snails.
The perfect friendship!
Fantastic photos, Sylvia! I especially enjoyed the first.
Thanks so much, Jill. They were very cute together. π
I think I’ll move into your bathroom!
Haha Lots of interesting things to see out there. π
Love the pairs, Sylvia, even though I misread that part of the title as “Paris” for a moment. Pairs and Paris are a good combination anyway, although perhaps not these pairs. And then there are always pears, but enough. I’m back to work getting ready for my trip to Wyoming on Friday (supposed to be at the end of August, but circumstances at worked changed, so…)
janet
Hehehe That’s quite a mix-up, Janet. Glad you like my non-Paris, non-edible pairs. π
lovely gallery of pairs, Sylvia! what a wonderful world! π
Thanks, Lola. Yes indeed. π
nice pictures, Iliked…
Thank you so much.
beautiful images, Sylvia π
Seems you got quite an interesting neighborhood π
Thanks, Sreejith. Yes, never a dull moment here. π
I could see that in your posts π
Have a nice day π
The little one on the bottom is certainly cute π
Yes he’s real little duckie. π
ya! π
How beautiful pairs you captured! Adore the pic of the love birds!
Thanks so much, Anna. π
Oh, what an engaging set of pairs, Sylvia!
Thanks, Sue. Glad you enjoyed. π
Your bathroom window gives you much fun, I can see!
