I saw quite a lot of single creatures over the weekend, who all seemed to have a song to sing.
First up was Iggy’s rendition of The Beatles’…. “She came in through the bathroom window.” Yikes!
Sammy was singing his remake of Bing Crosby’s ” Swingin’ on a Star/Bird-Feeder.”
Mr Anhinga, sitting way over in the pine trees didn’t have a date for Saturday night and mournfully sang Roy Orbison’s “Only the Lonely.”
Mr. Blue Jay has just released his own cover version of Guy Mitchell’s “Singing The Blues.”
The Northern Cardinal was looking rather unhappy without his “Lady in Red.”
Daisy Duck was paddling around searching for “Danny Boy.”
Serious Basil the Basilisk who seems destined to stay single, gave a rather staid performance of Cliff Richard’s “Bachelor Boy.”
Last but not least is little Anatole the Anole, who having found himself a desirable residence right next to my front door, spends his days singing Queen’s ” Can Anybody Find Me Somebody to Love.”
I hope you all had a splendid weekend and that your week will not be a lonely one.
I enjoy your posts so much. Thanks for sharing your wonderful world with us
Amazing photos!
Thanks, Linda. π
Cute post and great photos!
Thanks so much. I’m glad you enjoyed my bit of fun. π
LOL … clever and hilarious …. in addition to … fabulous photographs, Sylvia.
I loved this post. Songs and photos and stories. Genius …!!!
Thanks so much. π
Priceless Sylvia. I think you have found your niche. Now where are the backing singers?
I think I could round up a few of the iguanas, but I don’t know if they have any voices. We do have a few little toads, which could do the trick. π
They would be perfect!
Not lonely at all! That shot of the blue jay is fabulous! Practise is definitely making perfect, Ad. π
Thanks, Jo. I’ll keep practising. π
Yikes! That was almost too curious, Sylvia! I laughed as liked your appropriate song choices! This was so fun! Loved the cardinal best **** π
Thanks, Robin. The Cardinal is such a beautiful bird. I was thrilled to see him. π
How do see all these all the time!? Geez! Let me borrow your eyes for a bit.
Haha Your eyes are younger than mine, so I’ll gladly do a swap. π
i always enjoy seeing your friend Sylvia, and today was a blast:) thank you for sharing
Thanks so much, Kathy. π
Well, you certainly won’t be lonely with all these visitors stopping by and the variety of music playing in the background. π
That’s for sure. π
Often,my tablet doesn’t behave…
yesterday I could see the read and not the photos in your latest post…
Now , everything seems to work and your images are awesome, Sylvia!
Great post , I must say!
Thanks so much, Anna. Thanks for coming back to my post to see the photos. π
you have chosen the most spectacular place to live Sylvia π
Thanks, Tandy. We are very happy here. π xx
Now that’s an active weekend from a variety of characters.
Never a dull moment, Frank. π
It’s amazing how many songs your animal friends seem to know. I had to laugh at Iggy trying to make it through the bathroom window. π
Yes, I also found it amazing how musical they all are. π I’m really glad that my bathroom window doesn’t open. I’m sure Iggy would work out a way to get in. π―
That first photo makes me smile! π
Haha Yes, that face at the window made me smile too. He looks so cheeky, spying on me. π
Looks like it’s not the first time, too! π He knows what he’s doing!
Oh yes, he’s a regular. Hubby has now pruned the hibiscus bush, so he won’t be able to see in any more. π
Sylvia your sense of humour is priceless!
Hehehe Thanks, Gilly. π
Sylvia you seem like an excellent organizer. Might I suggest you get a choir going in the backyard. You shall make the perfect conductor! Off you go now and I expect to see video of your musical group in the near future. Oh yes and check the lock on that bathroom window. π
Thanks for your faith in my organizational skills, Sue. I’ll see what I can do, but of course we’ll have to have auditions first. I’ve never heard Sammy make a noise, but I believe squirrels have rather a hoarse voice. Iguanas apparently purr like a cat. The birds of course can sing, because that’s what birds do, so I think we have the makings of a choir here, which could be a You Tube sensation.
Trust me squirrels when frightened can make quite the ‘music’. Yes if you manage your little choir I do believe YouTube hits will be in the zillions. π
You have some fun and interesting visitors!
Yes, I do. Some more ‘interesting’ than others. π
How delightful!
Thanks, Ute. π
So funny, you make me smile. Thank you.
My pleasure, Ellada. π
Very good …. We enjoyed a few laughs looking at these photos & connecting songs…
Thanks, Gerrie. π
A great choice of songs
Thanks, Derrick. π
π Nice post !!!!
Thanks, RV. π
A fun post Sylvia! π
Glad you enjoyed. thanks, Adrian. π
What a cacophony is sound you must have in your back garden!! Excellent π
Hahaha Thanks so much, Liz. π
You’re so funny! π
Haha. Guilty as charged. π
Your menagerie is at it again! Love that first shot through your bathroom window.
I’d just stepped out of the shower and there he was! Camera was close by. π
I could get a bit panic if I see Mr. Iggy next to window like that. I hope he did some singing π
It is a bit scary, but might be worse if he sang to me. π
I guess since most of them are reptiles and birds and therefore don’t have fur, there’s little chance of getting Pink Floyd’s “Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict.”
Haha. Only Sammy and the bunnies would qualify. I suppose I could kidnap the neighbor’s dog. π
There’s an idea. π
Love that first shot, Sylvia. Hope you have a wonderful week as well.
janet
Thanks, Janet.
A lot of beauty and a lot of travel.
Thanks, Marylou.
Loved this, Sylvia! That first picture is awesome…he’s looking for you!
Thanks, Jill. Well he certainly found me. π
So clever!!
Thanks, Jessica. π
While your wildlife was singing pop singles, the amphibious libidinous crooners on our lagoon were courting up a storm. Given the cacophony of croaks, they scored BIG on Friday and Saturday nights.
Bwahaha. I can just imagine. π Now you’ll have lots of little croakers.
I’ll have all those songs in my head today, Sylvia π My favourite is Queen ‘Somebody to Love’ – what an awesome talent Freddy was π
Oh yes he most certainly was a legend. π I’m so happy I’ve given you songs to sing today. There’s no extra charge. π
The blue jay is simply beautiful. As for the reptiles, you can keep them :).
Yes, Mr Blue Jay is a ‘Bobby Dazzler’ as my gran would have said. I guess I’m stuck with The rest of the motley crew for better or for worse.π³
Music to my eyes, Sylvia! Love the combination!
Thanks so much, Tom. π
Music is to be found everywhere. This was a great post and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you.
I’ve spent more time in my yard this summer than I have in a long timeThe variety of birds that “visit” has been surprising. They certainly keep me out there hoping to see more. π
Oh what fun you must have had putting this together, Sylvia! Made me laugh!
Yes I did. Glad you enjoyed, Sue. π
Fun post, Sylvia; and great to see the famous bathroom window. All of your creatures (and photos) are terrific. I love the basilisk lizard, can never get enough of them…lucky you.
Thanks so much, Jet. I also have a soft spot for Basil. π
Who needs a radio with all that music? ;D Lovely shots.
Hehe You’re right, Patti. There’s entertainment all day long. π
Iggy is becoming rather comfortable. Next thing he’ll be sitting in the bathtub singing “Rubber Ducky”!
Hahaha I certainly hope not. π³
Love it Sylvia! xx
Thanks, Cheryl. π
xx
You have so many critters round your place it is a wonder there is any room for humans!
We human beans are still living in the bedroom. π
Unaccompanied?
Shockingly so. π
This was such an entertaining post…very fun!
Thanks so much, LuAnn. I enjoyed putting it together. π
Great photos
Thanks so much. π
That is a LOT of guests including the Olympic class yoga instructor Mr Sammy!
Haha Yes, Sammy always turns up to the party. π
That he does lol!
Love Mr Cardinal. When we were in Florida we had a pair of Cardinals who nested in our Bougainvillea right outside the house, we took photos of the baby chicks and watched them daily, such pretty birds.
Thanks, Susan. That must have been wonderful. I’ve only seen one so far.
