Today is one of those grey, rainy days with no critters outside my bathroom window. Even Sammy hasn’t been to inspect the fresh supply of birdseed in the feeder. Mr. GBH made a very brief appearance across the other side of the water, and the Anghina, looking quite dejected, took shelter in the branches of the fir trees.
The Iggy delegation which usually puts in an appearance around 9:30 am, was absent today. I was wondering where it is that they disappear to every day at 5:30 pm almost on the dot, and whether it’s quite sheltered from the rain, when I suddenly spotted a very soggy and lonely looking Iggy laying in the grass. He looked across at my window, as if to say. “It’s alright for you. You have a nice cosy bathroom to keep dry in. If that window opened, I’d be in there in a jiffy. ”
Hope your day is going better than Iggy’s.
The wildlife in your life is just amazing Sylvia. I hope your sunshine has returned to stay for a long while.
Thanks so much, Lisa. It’s a beautiful day today. 🙂
Ziggy wouldn’t like it much around here these days. It’s been pretty wet, although we’ve got a sevewral good days coming our way. If he hurries, he may be able to get here for a couple of them. 🙂
So kind of you, John. Can you send a taxi? 😄
Uber, maybe. 🙂
😃
Gorgeous nature there
Thanks, Marylou. 🙂
Poor Iggy. I hope he found a place to hide in.
He just seemed to be wallowing in his sogginess. All his friends had disappeared. 😦
Look at him! Sulking at you! I love your commentary Sylvia 😀
Thanks, Paula. He soon recovered his smile when the rain stopped. 🙂
Their faces look so fed up with the dull weather!
Absolutely. I think that all animals faces are very expressive. 🙂
Your friends are just little drenched compared to my friends here on the Gulf coast 🙂
Yes, I can well imagine. 🙂
Sometimes that works just too well 🙂
I often wonder about our critter friends out in the weather. I’m sure they have their opinions about what might be falling on their heads, but they probably keep those opinions to themselves…mostly! 😉
Hahaha I just watched Sammy squirrel raiding the bird feeder, upside down in the rain. It didn’t seem to concern him at all. 🙂
That’s what I love about critters. They deal with whatever comes their way!
Strangely I feel for Mr A, but am less concerned about Iggy!
Hahaha. I agree that Mr. A was far more ‘lovable’. 🙂
Poor Iggy. Perhaps you should invite him inside to dry out. 🙂
As much as I felt sorry for him, that wasn’t going to happen. 😀
Oh, poor Ig!
😦
It’s hard to be a little critter in rainy weather. So few of them carry umbrellas.
😅
as we still narrow our own search of where in Fl. we’d like to end up, i watch the weather, and i just want you to know im thinking about you , and all the others we know, every time one of these “storms” comes through.
Thanks, Lisa. We’ve had nothing untoward here, yet. Just a few heavy showers and a bit of thunder. 👍😄
Nothin like a good smile on a rainy day 🙂
Thanks, Derrick. 🙂
Maybe your hubby could build a little Iggy shelter like we have for the horses😊
Haha I’ll suggest it, but won’t hold my breath. 😅
Poor Iggy- the rain is from the tropical storm Sylvia? Stay dry 🙂
Thanks, Lisa. 😘
I guess even in Florida, grey wet days are inevitable. Good to see a couple of brave souls stoically putting up with the conditions Sylvia. 🙂
Very true, Adrian. We are having quite a lot of heavy showers lately. It’s still hot though, and even more humid. 🌧☔️
Keep that window tightly closed!
Don’t worry….I will. 🙂
Soggy here, too, although I couldn’t get out this morning to observe any animals/birds in the park as it was pouring. I just stayed home and dry.
janet
Very wise move, Janet. 😃
The day was nice today, Tuesday, but it did rain on Monday.
I like how pretty Mr. Anhinga looks up in the tree. Such crisp, clear feathers and touches of color really makes me think of a pin striped lapel, outlining with style, what a guy! Tipping my imaginary Frank Sinatra or Gene Kelly top hat.
Have a happy rest of the week, Sylvia! 🙂
Thanks so much, Robin. Your comment made me smile. 🙂
That picture of Mr. GBH looks like a painting. That is very nice.
I am sure many of your local friends will be eager to get into your bathroom if you open the window 🙂
It’s Mr. Anhinga, and yes, it does look like a painting. Last year, I did a painting of a pelican sitting in those trees. https://anotherday2paradise.wordpress.com/2016/01/07/our-pelican-is-back/
Ah, I remember that now.
I have always wondered how our wildlife puts up with days like this
I agree with you, Charles. I also wonder where they go to sleep.
Poor Iggy – he looks soggy 😦 Our Guinea Fowl tried to fly into the kitchen window the other day when it was raining. Gave me the fright of my life (lucky we’ve got screens!)
Haha I can well imagine you getting a fright. They’re not small birds. 🙂
Watch those windows and doors. Iggy definitely looks like he is looking for a warm dry spot. 🙂
Haha Not a chance, Sue. 🙂
Johannesburg and surrounds are badly in need of rain, too. Poor Iggy. Do iguanas actually swim, or not?
Yes, they can swim, but we don’t see them in the water very often, only if they’re startled by some perceived danger.
Poor old fella
Yes, he did look so forlorn out there all by his soggy self. 😦
pls send us rain here in Vancouver! we’re in a drought and Mr Gbh would be very happy 😄
I wish I could send some rain to you, Andy. Whatever happened to the legendary ‘Raincouver’? 😕
Seems that our favorite clouds decided to take a vacation :s
😦
Steady light rain here S- xx
It keeps getting heavier and then eases off a bit. We do need the rain. xx
Yes, we had thunder about one hour ago, back to a light rain! xx PS yes we really, really need it-its been too hot and dry to long this summer…xx
