Paula’s B&W theme this week is a ‘Portrait’ of someone or something. Here’s someone that I really miss since he was captured and taken away by the ‘Nuisance Alligator Trappers’.
Poor Mr. A was my favourite photo model of all time, and far from being a ‘nuisance’, he just happily minded his own business, cruisingย backwards and forwards in the lake outside my house. Unfortunately, my next door neighbours felt that he had no right to be there.
What a cute face he had, and sometimes I could almost imagine that he was winking at me.
Mr. A, wherever you are, I hope you’re alive and well and swimming free, or dreaming away the day, catching the rays on some muddy bank.
Happy Wednesday everyone.
I think Mr A knows you were thinking of him, Sylvia. We hope he is fine too ๐ Pawkisses for a Happy Day ๐ โค
Lovely to spend a little time with Mr A again. Fingers crossed he is alive and well.
Good to see the big guy back again Sylvia! ๐
Thanks, Adrian. He’s only back on my blog. ๐
I remember Mr. A. I hope he’s happy wherever he is now. ๐
Oh yes, me too. I just hope he isn’t adorning someone’s feet, or being carried around as a handbag. ๐ฆ
I’m afraid the thought had crossed my mind. ๐ฆ
Mine too. ๐ฆ
Come back soon Mr A!! ๐
I’ll second that, Andy. ๐

Oh no. ๐ฆ
I hope he’s okay.
Me, too! ๐
Fantastic b&w photo Sylvia!
Thanks so much, DellaAnna. ๐
I’m sure Mr A is a happy chappy no matter where he is living xxxx
Oh yes, I really hope so, Dianne. ๐ xx
I imagine Alligators don’t mind where they are as long as they have a regular supply of food…or does something more drastic happen to them?
Thanks, Gerrie. I try not to imagine what might have happened to him.
We miss him too, and hope he’s living free and safe wherever they took him.
Thanks, Dries. I know you would only wish him well. ๐
I like his smile, his eye does look kind and would like to see his “wink!” The captures in B&W are really great, Sylvia! ๐
Thanks, dear Robin. He doesn’t look scary. ๐
I am not sure about the cute face :), but I hope he is doing well and loved.
Thanks, ZL. ๐
I do hope Mr A is happy and free, hopefully in the center of the Everglades, far from people and harm..
Me too, John. I think he may be quite gratified to learn of our concern for his welfare. ๐
Brilliant shots Sylvia. I am sorry that you will not have Mr A to model for you in the future. I hope he is living large where ever he is
Thanks, Lisa. I really hope so too.
I hope Mr. A is doing well too. Great B&W pictures!
Thanks, YC. Me too.
Love seeing the alligator in B&W, gorgeous photographs Sylvia.
Thanks, Mary. ๐
I hope so too, Sylvia. I also miss him! Happy Wednesday! ๐ xx
Thanks, dear Marina. ๐
Excellent in black &white
Thanks, Marylou.
I think he is winking at you too. You two must have had some flirtation going on. It’s too bad he was taken away. Now you can only dream! ๐
Hahaha. Don’t tell hubby. ๐
Your secret is mine. ๐
๐
Terrific shot!
Thank you, Benn.
It is the crisis of our time that we all can’t just find a way to get along, to coexist.
Yes sadly so, Charlie. It is absolutely possible, but some people just don’t want to believe it.
Your photos are epic. Was this your first time encountering alligators?
Thanks, Vinny. I’ve seen many crocs and ‘gators on my travels, but this was the first time that I had one in my backyard. ๐
ooh, nice. When I lived in Florida, I never saw a gator.
Maybe you didn’t live next to water.
Oops. I forgot that I lived in Orlando, and not daytona. good call. Although, Orlando still had gators roaming around.
That’s a big fella, Sylvia. Terrific shots.
Yes he is big, Jane. Probably at least ten feet long. ๐
When I lived in SC, I learned that the number of inches from tip of snout to eyes is about how many feet a gator is. Thought that was a fun tip. Not that you can get that close to measure! ๐
๐ Well, thanks anyway.
Your photos are very pretty! Have a lovely day โฅ

Thanks so much, Daisy. ๐
Seems like you’ll have to make do with iguanas, Ad ๐ ๐
๐ฆ ๐ฆ No comparison really.
He’s definitely got his eye on you!
I think you could be right, Jill. ๐
Love your photo and your words!
Poor Mr A !
Thanks, Anna.

I also hope he is free to swim where he wants. I would be very peeved with such neighbours. Sylvia, these photos of him are excellent. He is stunning without colour too. Thank you very much for this entry.
Thanks so much, Paula. I thought he deserved another post.
You can never have too many pics of him.
Glad you think so. xx
I would love to have a gator in our lagoon . . . but the ducks, birds, fish, frogs, and snakes might feel a bit more nervous
Hehehe I think you’re right about that, Nancy. ๐
Awwww, he is such a cute little gator- that makes me sad ๐ฆ Thanks for sharing the photos.
Makes me sad too, Mack. Thanks for liking him. ๐
Hy is indrukwekkend
Dankie, Tina. Hy was my beste. ๐
