Feathers On Friday: Blue Flash

This Boat-tailed Grackle posed so nicely for his photo at our local nature reserve.

It’s been a very busy week here especially for hubby, who after finishing all the painting, except for the dining area which has all the wood flooring stacked up in it, immediately started putting the hardwood floor down right through the living area. Yesterday, he said that I could phone to see which day next week my piano could be delivered. The answer came back “Monday morning”, which was a bit sooner than we anticipated, so it’s all go this weekend to lay the floorΒ  before they arrive. I’m so excited about being able to play again and serenade hubby whilst he’s finishing off the rest of the house.

Wishing you all a very happy weekend. Ours will be happy, but it won’t be at all relaxing.

  1. Love those iridescent blue feathers Sylvia …he probably makes quite a noise but could be forgiven looking so beautiful πŸ™‚
One sleep and it’s proper play time ! How lovely to get acquainted with your piano again , it must have felt an age xx

  2. Fantastic shot, Sylvia!! What a gorgeous bird! Wow! And a piano! Oh my goodness, I didn’t know you played the piano! How excited you must be to get your fingers on those keys again. There is so much JOY in Life, dear friend, and those joys all have to do with what we love to do. Have a great weekend and don’t work too hard!! ❀

  3. All kinds of exciting adventures in paradise! πŸ™‚ I have been looking forward to all of it falling into place easily for you, but it seems not very cooperative in the “timing department!”
Your photo looks like you and he could have had a serious chat with him. The blue flash is marvelous but he has a very stern look, Sylvia.

    • Yes, he does look a bit disapproving. Maybe he didn’t like having his photo taken, or perhaps like some of the teenagers these days, he thinks it’s not ‘cool’ to smile for the camera. Everything here is going swimmingly and hubby is being amazing, as always. πŸ™‚

      • So funny, so like a teenager bird. Maybe those shiny feathers have created a snobby bird, “you’re so vain. . . .”
You have a great bond and catch with your husband. He is also lucky to have you, since you can hear your love and pride in him. ❀

  4. How exciting, there is nothing like a deadline to make everyone work all the harder but at least he gets a serenade at the end of it! I wish we could hear you play too. Have a lovely weekend
