It’s been a while since I’ve seen an alligator in our pond, but this one at our local nature reserve had quite a hypnotic gaze.
Happy Wednesday to you all. Only six more sleeps until we fly off to Chile to join our Antarctic cruise.

I love your photo of this handsome alligator, camouflaged and ready.
Thank you. Yes, he’s quite magnificent. π
Gosh, I wouldn’t even have noticed the alligator there. When they’re still, they look like a big lump of mud. (A lump of mud that might eat me, of course!)
Yes, he’s not a lump of mud you would want to trip over. π
Have fun π
Thanks you. We are. π
Super picture Sylvia! π
Thanks, Adrian. π
Well, well, well, very nice to see you again ………. Mr. Alligator. π And of course, you too, Syl. π π
Thanks,Rommel. Sorry I’m a bit scarce at the moment. Off on an Antarctic cruise this week. π
Enjoy the cruise
And that is quite the gaze!!
Thanks so much. π

Thanks, Jo. Hug delivered. π xx
A cruise! An Antarctic cruise! That must be so very special. Enjoy the scenery, the animals, ah and the people too, of course. Stay safe, stay happy. x
Thanks so much, Marion. π
That is both a scary-looking and fascinating photo of an alligator. Camouflaged and ready to attack. Really a cool photo.
Thanks, Otto.
Seems like a friendly, joyful chap!
Absolutely. π
Ah … he is rather lovely Sylvia .From a safe distance of course π
Not long now then .. 6 sleeps !
Yes he is. Only 5 sleeps now. π―π
Snorts and shiver. I was looking at the picture like what and then I was like OMP because I saw his beady eyes. They love pigs, right. I mean like they wouldn’t eat me. Gulps. Okay I’m leaving now. XOXO – Bacon
Your comment really made hubby and I laugh so much. Yes, I’m sure that Mr. A would quite partial to a slice of bacon. Best you stay away, I think. π
He looks rather scary, I find….. stay back!
Definitely, I wouldn’t get any closer, Ute. π
He’s scary, I’m hoping you had a long zoom lens!
Yes, I was a safe distance away, about 8 feet above him. π
Amazing creatures, aren’t they? His stare reminds me of the last scene of “Psycho” where Norman is sitting, straight-jacketed, in the chair staring. No one should fear this alligator. He’s harmless. He won’t even move the leaves sitting on his face and snout.
Yes, I think he’s really a Pussycat . Thanks for reminding me of the Psycho movie.π I hope I don’t have nightmares tonight. π±
Now that sounds like a marvelous adventure waiting for you, Sylvia!
Thanks, Dries. I’m looking forward to it.
He definitely got my attention Sylvia!! Enjoy the countdown and anticipation of penguin magic and National Geographic splendor π
Sylvia, I am going to hit my cell phone over my head and teach my brain to remember to check the spelling! Love you, dear. xo
Those eyes look scary today!
Silvia, hope your Chili trip to catch Antarctica cruise goes safely without anything but smooth sailing ahead! xo β€
Terrific shot, Sylvia! “Six sleeps”…I love that! π

I could not make it out at first…amazing!
Have a lovely cruise. How exciting!
Great gator pic, Sylvia.
Thanks, Ruth. Yes, very exciting indeed. I think hubby deserves it after living with me for 50 years. I’ll just tag along. π
Wow, what a photo! How exciting–your cruise!
Thanks, Patti. π
What a capture Sylvia! Only 6 sleeps yippee! What tour company have you chosen?
Thanks, Sue. We going on the Seabourn Quest.
Thanks Sylvia
Wonder what he was thinking while staring as such s??? Safe travels. xx
Maybe he was wondering how much meat I had on my bones. π xx
LOL-hopefully NOT! xx
Even this photo gives me the creeps. Have you heard the song “Never smile at a crocodile”? I think it would apply to alligators as well.
Yes, I taught it to my school pupils. They thought it was great fun. π
What a great eye-to-eye shot! I understand you are counting the sleeps π
Thanks so much, Helen. π xx
I’m not going for a swim!
Me neither, Cindy. π
Enjoy your cruise Sylvia. Awesome photo!
Those eyes..! wow π³
Great shot, not easily identifiable….
Super pic!
Great shot, Sylvia!
They are primeval creatures, aren’t they. Completely mysterious as well as rather scary.
