Have you ever wished that you had ‘eye’s in the back of your head’? I know I have, especially when I was teaching at school. Ms Anhinga has solved the problem by turning her head through180 degrees. A very clever trick indeed.
Wishing you all a splendid weekend, filled with love, laughter, good food and lots of fun.

Wow! Wonderful scene!
Thank you.š
I think sometimes our children think we have eyes in the back of our head but this…if only we could. š
Very true, Karen. How did we survive without this feature? š
Yes I know, the kids in my class really believed that I had eyes in the back of my head! š

I’m trying to get back to the WP world, Sylvia, and seeing your gorgeous photo reminds me all-too-well of what I’ve been missing. Thanks for the motivation. š
How wonderful to see you again, John. Iām not such a regular blogger at the moment, but I do my best. Hope all is well with you. š
Al’s well here, I’m happy to say and I hope to be present more regularly. I hope you and yours are all doing well, too, Sylvia. I’m sure we’ll talk again soon. š
That’s a great capture, Sylvia! I know we would benefit from that ability at times š
Thanks, Helen. Definitely so. š
Lovely shot, AD. A splendid weekend to you too…x
Thanks, Cocoa. š xx
I feel I may need a neck massage just looking at that twisting! Happy weekend!
Thanks, Sue. Neck massage sounds good right now. š
Wonderful shot!!! Happy Weekend š
Thanks so much. š
Splendid composition!

Thanks, Ute. Happy weekend to you too. š
I’d certainly like to be able to do that š
Me too, Derrick. š
And you my dear, aren’t her wings wonderful š
Thanks, Gilly. Yes, they are beautiful birds. š
That’s the ‘Are you looking at ME?’ look š š Happy weekend, Ad!
Thanks, Jo. Happy weekend to you, too. xx
If we had necks that long maybe we too could do what Ms Anhinga does… Happy weekend, Sylvia!
I’m sure we could. If only. š
Cool capture, Sylvia! Happy weekend to you too!
Thanks, Donna. š
Obviously your eyes are doing well…that’s a great shot, Sylvia! Happy weekend! xo
Thanks, Jill. xx š
I always think birds with wings out in the sun look elegant … But the head turned right around is taking elegance to a new level! Have a great weekend.. & glad to read from a previous comment that your eyes are much better now.
Thanks so much, Gerrie. š
That is a great shot! I am not sure I would like to have eyes on the back. Having an ability to turn my head 180 degrees (or near 180 degrees) might be a good thing to have.
Yes, it would be a neat trick. š
Wishing you the same. The Anhingas are pretty impressive at head turning, but owls have them beat. They can rotate their heads a full 270Āŗ. Humans can only do roughly 90Āŗ right or left of center (with minor variations). A little bit of trivia for you! š
Thanks, Gunta. Interesting trivia indeed. š³
Fantastic the way he is drying his feaders in the wind.
Yes, they are wonderful to see. š
Quite the contortionist, isn’t she!!
Impressive.
Very!
Speaking of eyes . . . how are YOURS doing?
Thanks for asking, Nancy. I think they both repaired quite well. Not as good as new, though.
At least they have repaired, so a great relief to you, Sylvia…
Yes, indeed. Its marvellous what can be done these days. My grandmother went totally blind.
That’s a result, then
I’m so glad to hear that, Sylvia.
Great photo – happy weekend!
Thanks so much, John. š
