Four years ago we visited the Edison Heritage garden in Fort Myers. Thomas Edison’s second wife, Mina Miller had a great love for the tranquility of formal gardens and created many beautiful ones in the grounds of their extensive winter estate.
This sculpture shows her sitting on a bench, peacefully admiring the plants around her.
This couple are resting a while to admire the ocean scene from a well-placed bench in my home town of Umhlanga Rocks. I really miss that view, and hope to be back there for a visit very soon.

Thanks, Lisa. π
Ahhhh β¦ the peaceful naure of benches
I agree, Frank. That is until they start to get a bit too hard. π
I agreed with comments before me that Mrs. Mina Miller looked like really she was enjoying her garden. I am wondering though from this angle, it looks like she only had one leg.
Oh dear! π³ I can see that she has two knees beneath her skirt, so her other foot must be further back……..unless someone stole it. π

Amazing statue of mrs Edison
I agree, Marylou.
One would hope that wasn’t an electric bench!
π Trust you to come up with that, Col.
One 0f my favorite places to visit. I find it very peaceful . And Iβm always i. That area when Iβm in Fl.
Itβs beautiful. We so enjoyed our day there.
Yes, I could tell Sylvia.
It looks like everyone’s enjoying a rest and a beautiful view.
Thanks, Carol. Both places are very restful.
A very realistic statue.
Yes it is.
nice challenge! i always look forward to your posts of the ocean view of your hometown, Sylvia. π
Thanks, Lola. Makes me feel a bit homesick.
Mrs. Edison looks relaxed in that garden, so does the couple. I wonder if the fishermen yonder caught anything, though.
I’ve seen fishermen there who have had a good catch. I think most people just do it for the relaxation though. π
