Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge this week is ‘Looks like a face’. I immediately thought of Mr Leo lion who is always waiting on the boardwalk to greet us when we visit our local wildlife reserve. He looks kind of disappointed with his lot in life, but then I suppose we would all feel that way if we had hundreds of pairs of feet walking all over us every day of the week. Most folk wouldn’t even notice him, but I always stop and say “Hello” just to cheer him up a bit.
This tree trunk in a park in Santiago, would also go unnoticed if someone with a sense of humour hadn’t decided to give it a rather agonized face. It reminded me ofΒ ‘The Scream’ the iconic painting symbolising the anxiety of modern man, by Norwegian Expressionist artist Edvard Munch.

Thanks, Ann Christine.
The first one looks like a lion!
Most definitely. π
π
These photos are fantastic – I love The Scream. π
Thanks, Lynette. π
Great choices as always. You do find the best picks. I tend to think of the second one as surprise rather than scream.
Thanks, Gunta. I hope I don’t ever get such a surprise. π
love your entries! π
Thanks, Imelda. π
That first one looks just like a lion. The second one…hmmm needed a bit of help, but it was fun.
janet
Thanks, Janet. Admittedly the second one had some help but it was good for a laugh. π€£
That is definitely a lion face. I agreed that his does not look happy and probably so with many feet stepping on it.
Thanks, YC. I would have liked to bring him home with me to meet my wooden dog and cat. π
Magnificent
Thanks, Marylou. π
The first one is amazing, once you say the word lion you can’t see anything else. Love the second one – someone had a great sense of humour.
Thanks, Carol. I agree with you on both counts. π
Great shots.. love Mr Lion..;-)

Nice! Have you shared the tree here before, Syliva? I’ve seen it somewhere. π
Thanks, Jill. Yes, I believe I may have shared both photos before. π
I stared at this lion. So stunned by how life like and real it appeared. A true amazing beauty of nature. Thanks for sharing it
You’re welcome, Drew. He makes me smile every time i see him. π
A scream, in two different ways! That lion can knot be real without embellishment!
You’re right, Col. Mr Leo is wearing no makeup at all. Just a photo taken with my cellphone. He’s very handsome.
Wood you believe it! The beam has a warped sense of humour.
π
Perfect picks, Sylvia!
Thanks, Nancy. Hope the second one didnβt scare you. π
