“No, I’m not JUST a pigeon! My fancy name is Indomalaya Dove and by the way, don’t you just adore my new red footwear?”
Sometimes we forget just how extraordinary the more common varieties of birds are. Everything in nature is beautiful in its own way.
Wishing you all a happy week ahead.
A touch of the Jimmy Choo!
A lady(?) in red!! (Socks) How nice! ๐
A real beauty, love the red feet!
Thanks, Aletta. Me too. ๐
Just a pigeon but a real beauty
Thanks, Marylou. ๐
An absolutely beautiful pigeon with bright pink feet!
Thanks, Cathy. ๐
What a snappy dresser!
Oh yes, she sure is. The height of Chic. ๐
That pigeon looks for all the world as if she is showing off her new pink shoes! Good shot.
Thanks, Gerrie. I think she was only too happy to promote herself. I told her she was going to be on my blog. ๐
I have always loved pigeons and this one is no exception; a real beauty.
I’m so glad you think so. She was such a willing photo model and deserves some praise. ๐
Have a wonderful week, Sylvia.
Thanks so much, Frank.
The red feet are unusual
Birdsโ feet have some very unusual colours. ๐
Those are some fancy feet! ๐
janet
They sure are, Janet. ๐
I think this is the kind that you can take them far away from home and they know the way back. He looks healthy and handsome.
You mean homing pigeons? Maybe itโs the same. I remember when I was a child in England, some of our neighbours kept these pigeons for racing.
Yes, that is what I meant.
Love the feet!! Great post!
Thanks, Kirt. ๐
Yes, I adore your footwear! But I love your chest with pink highlights the most ๐
Yeah, nature is truly beautiful.
Haha. Youโre so funny, Jessica. ๐
Happy that I made you laugh ๐
This bird might be pretty however I can not stand the filthy lice lay-don ‘rock pigeons’ that live on roofs in large cities,,, Sorry ๐ข
Yes, theyโre much healthier in a better environment, eating their natural food.
Very fancy! I can’t recall ever seeing a pigeon with red feet before.
Indeed!!
Cue Elvis Costello song: (The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes!
quite handsome, Sylvia and striking footwear! ๐ ๐ i agree, nature is beautiful in many, many ways. ๐
He’s beautiful with his iridescent outfit and red shoes!
You have a great week as well. ๐
Glad you agree, Lynette. Thank you from Ms Indomalaya. ๐
Some VERY fashionable shoes!
๐ ๐
You always find the colour in birds.. ๐
It’s amazing how the4 colours come out in photographs, Lisa. I’m often surprised when I look at them. ๐
Such a handsome bird, common or not.
Thanks, Tish. She most certainly is.
Looks like she is wearing Jordans.
Have a great week yourself.
Haha……only the best for this gorgeous bird. ๐
LOL
Nature loves to surprise us Sylvia. Even the most ‘boring’ looking of creatures has a remarkable feature of we looked closely enough. Not that pigeons (or any other creature) could really be classed as boring.
Lovely photo.
Thanks, Tom. Yes, we need to look more closely to appreciate the beauty.
Hahaha – I do like the red forward – and the fuchsia scarf ?
Oh yes, the scarf. ๐
So much clarity here (but – um – you are a wildlife whisperer to keep clicking – ha)
Thanks, Yvette. One of the other birders heard me chatting to her saying how beautiful she was and commented that she seemed to like posing for me. ๐
I see the pose too…. and is their color inside the eye?
Seems to be orange and red. I read that the colour is caused by the pigments in their eyes called carotenoids, pteridines and purines. Apparently this helps with long distance vision. I could do with some of what they’ve got. ๐
Same here – send some my way if you get any – ha
You’ll be the first to know about it. ๐ xx
๐๐
Tremendous image!
Thanks so much, Dan.
She’s styling!
Absolutely, Jill. ๐
