For XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’, here are a few seats which my grandchildren have enjoyed playing on in recent years.
The local mall has a play area for when they come to visit us in Florida.
It’s always wonderful to see children enjoying simple pleasures.
Who of us doesn’t remember the thrill of playing on the swings in the local park? Some things never change.
When Sienna came to visit us in Johannesburg she wasn’t too old to enjoy the playground swings.
Likewise with the rides in the shopping mall.
A few years ago, this was my teenage grandson’s favourite seat as he wobbled around on his unicycle which he’d bought with our birthday money. He actually became quite proficient on it, but alas such fads blossom and then die, so it now languishes in a corner of the garage.
Thanks for looking at my nostalgic photos. To join in XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat ‘ challenge, just click the link. I hope you’re all having a good day.

Thank you. 🙂

Precious memories!
Thanks, Aletta.
The joy of memories of time spent with grandchildren. These are truly life’s treasures.
We are in total agreement, Sue.
Ah, nothing like seeing happy children.
Very true, ZL. 🙂
Woow you have lovely grandchildren
Thanks, Marylou.
They deserve the best times and it looks like you deliver!
Thanks, Eddie. 🙂
A lovely collection with an inspired final pic
Thanks, Derrick. 🙂
Good collection over the years.. And your granddaughter’s name “Sienna” is the name I use whenever I am in a line or a store and someone asks for my name, just because if I had chosen my own name, this would have been it! It is also the color (burnt sienna) that I use to do the under painting in my paintings.
Peta
Thanks so much, Peta. How interesting that your alias is ‘Sienna’. It’s a lovely name, i agree. Her maternal grandma is Dienna, so if you take the first letter of my name and substitute it for the D, then you get Sienna. 😀
Very happy memories. The son of a friend of mine rides a unicycle but it is a very tall one. It’s scary to watch but he seems very competent.
Thanks, carol. Yes, I’ve seen those tall ones, although I’ve never worked out how one gets on and off them. 😯
What fun memories.
Thanks so much XM. 🙂
Such a great collection of smiles!
Thanks, Nancy. 🙂
I still like to swing. 🙂 Was it chilly? Everyone seems to be wearing sweatshirts.
janet
Always the child at heart, Janet. 🙂 Interesting that you noticed the sweat shirts. I think we’d been to Disney the day before and the little ones didn’t want to be parted from their new sweatshirts. 🙂
Lovely pictures! Definitely, it is wonderful to watch young children enjoy simple things!
Thanks, YC. I agree with you of course. 🙂
The granddaughter in pink (in the 1st two pics) sure looks like you!!! But they’re all lovely! That unicycle is something else. I’m surprised you didn’t have a picture of him riding it.
Thanks, Gunta. I think I have a short video of him riding it somewhere on my phone, but it was over four years ago now, so cant find it.
Children love playgrounds. I still love to have a turn on an old fashioned swing.
Yes they do. I haven’t been on a swing for decades. 🙂
So cute! Very impressed by the unicycle.
Thanks, Anabel. I wonder if he can can still ride it. I’ll have to ask him next time I see him.
They look like they’re having fun!
Thank you. They are such fun kids. Love them to bits.
So full of life, enthusiasm and sheer joy!! Lovely!
Thanks so much, Rebecca. They’re all so precious. 🙂
Aw…so many sweet smiles! Loved this, Sylvia!
Thanks, Jill. 😘
Great photos of happy kids! 🙂
Unicycling – that’s quite a skill! 🙂
Thanks, Lynette. Yes, something I’ve never aspired to. 😀
Beautiful moments. That unicyle may discarded but the good memories will live on always.
Thanks so much, Lisa. I wish he would take up some of his hobbies and sports again. He has his black belt in karate, was a good tennis player and a passable guitarist, but gave them all up. Now it’s all heavy metal music and video games. 😦
This too shall pass 😀
We sure hope so too. He’s also dropped out of university. 😦
Uh boy. I have a few friends that dropped out for a time but they all went back in the end and all became successful. They just needed time to sort themselves out.
Sweet pictures!! Love the unicycle story!
Thanks so much, Jessica. 🙂
You’re very welcome!
lovely photos of the grandchildren, Sylvia! how time flies. 🙂
Thanks, Lola. Yes, it certainly does and much too fast.
Cheers to your grandkids … and I recall you posting about Sienna many moons ago.
Thanks for stopping by, Frank. Yes, I did post about Sienna visiting us in Johannesburg.
Beautiful family. God bless them always.
Thanks so much, Drew. Much appreciated. 🙂
looks like that was a fun and happy day!
Always fun and happy with the grandchildren. 😃
that is wonderful!
A good selection. I’ve never known anyone outside of a circus who owned a unicycle before!
Well, neither have I. I think the novelty has worn off now, but if he needs a job he could always join the circus. 😅
