XingfuMama’s ‘ Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ is now in its 42nd week.
Last week I shared a couple of life-like sculptures seen in a park in Key West. This week I have more seats seen and photographed in this southernmost point in the US.
We had very comfy seats on our hotel balcony, after inexplicably being upgraded to the honeymoon suite. We weren’t complaining of course.
This beautiful hammock seat was on sale, but unfortunately a bit too big to fit into our car.
Walking down Duval Street, I noticed a bicycle seat with its improvised waterproof cover.
The garden of Ernest Hemingway’s house had a not so comfortable-looking seat next to the pool.
In the drawing room, one of the many resident cats had found a prime spot on a velvet couch displaying a notice telling visitors to please not sit there.
At the end of a very busy day, the grandchildren and their two friends were happy to have a seat on the kerb and enjoy some ice cream.

This morning, Woody wood stork came striding purposefully through our backyard and from the determined look in his eye, he was most certainly on a breakfast hunt. I pity any poor fish who are unfortunate enough to come into contact with that beak.
With his ugly, dark grey, wrinkly, bald head, it’s unlikely that he would win any beauty contests, but having such a menacing face which only a mother could love, probably accounts for the fact that wood storks are rarely preyed upon, even by alligators.
Wishing you all a very pleasant Sunday.
XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ is now at week 41 and still going strong.
Four years ago we were in Key West, when on our way to see the lighthouse, we spied these very life-like sculptures through the fence surrounding a small park. I really had to look twice to make sure that they weren’t real people.
A mother and daughter were enjoying an afternoon picnic, when it would appear that something caught their attention.
Maybe they were waiting for grandma to stop rummaging around in her purse and come over to join them.
Happy Wednesday to you all.

Here’s another square photo for BeckyB’s ‘Square Lines October Challenge’. The ‘House Of Roots’ hair salon specialising in hair extensions, weaves and dreadlocks was closed for business with lots of lines.

Here’s another entry for BeckyB’s October ‘Lines and squares challenge’.
Our local mall has a carousel which always grabs my attention when we walk past. It’s been many years since I rode one of those horses.
“Life is like a carousel. Sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down, but still you keep on going round and round. The most important thing is to enjoy the ride.”
Wishing you all a great week.
This is my first post for Becky’s October Lines and Squares Photo Challenge.
At the New York Metropolitan Museum Of Art, Diana the Roman goddess of the hunt and the moon, artfully aims her bow and arrow whilst standing on one leg. I’m sure that for a mere human, this stance isn’t ideal for hitting your target, but for the daughter of Jupiter, I suppose nothing is impossible.
I hope my photo adheres to the criteria set out in Becky’s post.
Wishing you all a splendid weekend[.
XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ is now into its 40th week and seems to be gaining in popularity.
This week, I dug up some photos from my travels, the first of which was taken in Puerto Montt, Chile. This larger than life statue is set on the boardwalk of a beautiful bay. I guess it’s supposed to be a loving couple looking out to sea, but somehow it misses its mark as they both look really miserable.
Along the highway in Ambato, Ecuador, a stark-naked young lady was perched on what looked like a very uncomfortable seat, holding out flowers to the passing throng. She must have been about thirty feet high, so very hard to miss.
Costa Rica can get very colourful and here, the local police seemed to be taking it easy even though they weren’t actually sitting on the bench.
Also in Costa Rica was this beautifully decorated church with the seemingly obligatory hard wooden pews. I often wondered when I was a child, whether having such uncomfortable seating was some sort of penance for our sins.
Now here at the Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, is a much more comfortable place to sit and meditate and it certainly has a view to die for.
I hope you’re all having a great week. Now that it’s autumn here in Florida I keep waiting for the weather to cool down, but it seems to be be taking its time about it.

XingfuMama is on week 39 of her ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’. This week, I have a few images of seated musical entertainers.
The first one was taken in a London subway where there are often musicians hoping for donations from the passing throng.
These two musicians play in my local shopping mall car park in South Africa. They’ve been there by the ticket machines for as long as I can remember and when we go back on holiday, I always look out for them.
This one is from a restaurant in Morocco. i think this short-necked lute-type instrument is called an Oud.
Here are my grandson and his cousin Portia, serenading Great Grandma on her 102nd Christmas day.
My header photo was taken by hubby from above where I was sitting playing the piano in our local mall in Umhlanga. I use to play there twice a week to entertain the shoppers and I think they enjoyed it as much as I did.
Wishing you all a very good week.
