A beautiful Blue Morpho butterfly came to check the time on hubby’s watch. It stayed attached for quite a while until it decided it was time to take off again.
Wishing you all a happy last Sunday of the year.

Silently he glides
A scaly sly predator
Not to be approached
Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday.
Our newest Hibiscus has been very green and healthy-looking for months now, but every time a bud started to appear, it dried up and fell off. I’ve fed it, sprayed it with bug repellent, cajoled and threatened it, but it seemed determined not to flower. Hubby and I have been on a week’s jaunt to Key West for our 53rd wedding anniversary and yesterday on our return, this is what we saw; a perfectly formed flower the size of a soup bowl. I think we should go away more often.
Wishing you all a splendid weekend.
Debbie’s‘One Word Sunday’ theme, ‘Overlap’, made me think of one of my sister Yvonne’s beautiful African paintings. I love the way the colours and textures overlap one another. This was still on her easel, so maybe there was more overlapping to be done.
Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday.
Looks like Mrs Penny Pelican has flown in to join her mate Perry, now that he’s sorted out their digs for the winter.
On their way back upstream, they were accompanied by an entourage of birds. The Great Egret led the parade, whilst Mr GBH proudly ‘rode shotgun’. The ducks, paddling for all they were worth, brought up the rear. It was quite a show.
The tri-coloured heron just looked on in astonishment.
For Debbie’s ‘Six Word Saturday’. Apologies that the photos taken through my bathroom window, aren’t the sharpest.
Hope your weekend is going well.
XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ is now on week 47 and I’ve found a few more seats from my travels.
At Johannesburg OR Tambo airport, Nelson Mandela can be found sitting on a bench as large as life.
A bit further along, Jack Daniels, whose premium Tennessee whiskey has become very popular in South Africa, also has his own bench.
On a visit to Johannesburg, our little granddaughter Sienna decided to join the flamboyant ‘cowch potato’ Daisy sitting on a bench reading the ‘Daily Mooews’
Wishing you all a great weekend.

Pretty in pink and with her distinctive spatula-shaped bill, Rosie is on the hunt for delectables in the shallow waters along the edge of the lake.
For Linda’s‘One-Liner Wednesday’.
For Debbie’s ‘One Word Sunday Layered’, I give you the majestic Mr GBH, a bird of many layers.
Wishing you all a wonderful month of December.
