XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge Week 8’ had me thinking of really cool seats that I’ve seen and experienced.
Visiting Tahoe for Christmas 2018, I sat on this stone wall. The icy cold even found it’s way through my three layers of clothes.
I’m sure these two locals were used to the cold and probably met here most days for a chat.
On a previous Christmas visit to our son in New Jersey, this was the view through his family room window.
However, the coolest seat I ever sat on was this one in Antarctica.
Hoping you have a warm and pleasant seat to read this post.

Oh my you’ve made me shiver now!
Sorry, Gilly. ๐ฏ xx
It might have been cold a Tahoe, but it looks beautiful. And Antarctica, well, it’s on my list…
Yes it was really beautiful, Otto. You really must go to Antarctica. ๐
Lots of lovely chilly seats!
Thanks, Fi. ๐
I am sure you did not sit too long on the ice!!
I probably didnโt, although my outer pants were waterproof and I also had thermal leggings and tracksuits pants underneath. ๐
๐
Quite an array of scenes, all looking very cold!
You probably didn’t sit for long.
Love your photos Sylvia
You’re right about that, Eddie. The trick in such temperatures is to keep moving. ๐
Great assortment of seats. I’m partial to the stone wall because being from New England it speaks to me. I had to chuckle at the seat with the snow because there is this old joke about why New Englanders leave their picnic table out in the winter – so they can see how deep the snow is. ๐
Haha. Good one, Judy. ๐
Wonderful seats Sylvia! Especially the ice ๐
Thanks, Lisa. ๐
I’m furreezing…don’t know why..MOL…Cold but great pictures and seats, Sylvia๐ธPawkisses for a Happy Tuesday๐พ๐ฝ๐
Thanks so much, dear Binky and Granny. ๐๐ค
Super seats! Yes, thank you, I’m very warm and comfortable while reading your post, I’m still in bed, then again it’s not yet 06:00AM so I feel entitled! ๐
Thanks, Sue. Glad you were cosy and warm. ๐
I have the same feeling as Anabel above me when seeing these pictures. I thought there will be no snow up here this year but.. the tradition of at once a year keeps on.
So you have snow where you are? Iโm sure it looks pretty.
We just had it up here in NC on last Friday. Yes, it looks pretty but … I think I prefer not to see it too often or too heavy ๐
Eek! I can feel the cold from here.
Iโm sure youโre hardy enough to not even feel it, Anabel. ๐
You are a glutton for punishment, Ad ๐ ๐
It would seem like it, Jo. ๐ ๐
๐ ๐
Phew, that is cols. I rather have a hot seat! ๐
You and me both, Ute. ๐
A stone wall can be chilly even in spring and fall, but a snow chair in Antarctica? Brrrr! What an experience, though, to be there.
janet
Thanks, Janet. Well you only get one Golden Wedding Anniversary in a lifetime, so we made ours one to remember. ๐
Perfect!
Oh, I felt the marvelous winter chill in your photos. I miss the north, the cold, the solitude, the stillness, the wilderness. When you have lived in the north, you will never be the same. But, I confess I live in the warmest part of Canada now and have become used to a milder climate. It would take me several months to acclimatize back to -45 F. Thank you for inviting me to pull up a seat. I always feel welcomed when I stop by for a visit, in any kind of weather. Hugs!
Thanks so much, Rebecca. You are always welcome here. ๐ -45F sounds really dire. ๐ณ
I learned the benefit of long johns!!! Hugs!!!
How fortunate you had a chance to visit Antarctica, Sylvia, it looks fabulous, and you’re appropriately dressed for your chair there. Great to see all the cold seats.
Thanks, Jet. Yes, we made sure we had all the right gear for the Antarctic. The jacket was part of the cruise package and was really warm.
Great photo’s but looks icy cold
Thanks, Marylou. Yes, quite different from Florida. ๐
I really appreciate your dedication to finding a picturesque photo spot Sylvia ๐ You do look amazingly snuggly in the Antarctic image though โ
Haha……well one has to do one’s best, Poppy. Yes, the Antarctic gear was very snuggly indeed, in fact too warm at times. ๐
Brrrrr!
๐
This is how I feel each day at the day job! ๐ฅถ๐ฅถ๐ฅถ
Oh no!! ๐ณ I could lend you my thermal tracksuit pants, leggings and Ugg boots. I donโt need them here in Florida. ๐
I sure could use them, Sylvia. My heating pad isnโt cutting it!๐ฅถ
Seems like you are a glutton for icy punishment. Nice photos especially the one with the two people ‘chilling’ in the cold. Who does that? ๐
Not really a glutton for icy punishment, but occasionally I do happen to find myself well out of my comfort zone. ๐
Very interesting seats, Sylvia …and they get even better with you in them! ๐
Thanks, dear Marina. ๐ xxx

Brrr! I guess when your feet hurt you have to weigh your choices.
Haha. I couldn’t even feel my feet. ๐
An original take on the theme
Thanks, Derrick. I do try my best to be original. ๐
๐
That is really freezing your tail off. Great pictures
Thanks so much. ๐
Antarctica.. amazing.. one day.. ๐
Thanks, Lisa. Yes, I’m sure you’ll get there. We did a Seabourn cruise. It was wonderful and so educational too.
That last one reminds me of here. ๐
Is it that cold? ๐ฏ
-35C. ๐ I work in the Arctic.
Woah!! ๐ฑ
Lovely post and pics. God, you reminded me of how happy I am to be living in warmer climates.
Hope you and yours are doing well.
Thanks, Drew. Yes, we are very fortunate with the winters here in Florida. ๐
We certainly are.
