If it weren’t for the Coronavirus scare around the world, this is where hubby and I would be headed right now. A daily walk along the beach, checking out my favourite lighthouse along the way.
Having our daughter come to stay with us in a beach-side apartment and seeing my darling sister almost every day.
I wonder when it will be possible and safe to travel again? I know the saying, “East, West, home is best,” but it’s also nice to have a change of scenery.
Wishing you all a perfect Sunday as you’re maybe also dreaming of what you’d rather be doing.

A beautiful lighthouse and ocean walk… Lets hope it will not be long before travel is allowed again and loved ones can reunite.. ❤
Thanks, Sue. I hope so too. ❤
Yes.. sadly I think I have to cancel my June holiday.. ;-(
It’s just one of those things, Lisa. I’m beyond disappointed that we probably won’t make it over there this year. 😳
How I wish you (and I) were there now. Looking forward to the day when you (and I) can be with family again.
Thank you, dear Lisa. Wishing and hoping for us both. xxhugsxx
fun song – and great for this post –
Thanks, Yvette. A song from my childhood memories. 😅
🎼❤️
We can dream and travel in your dreams or on the internet for a while! 🙂
This is true, Ute. It will have to suffice for the time being. 🙂
Something to look forward to…. Lovely place, Sylvia! 🙂 xoxoxoxoxo
Indeed. We must just be patient a while longer. 😘🤗
…just a little while. xoxoxo
What a great holiday that would have been! I know that beautiful part of the world, and catching up with your family in such a relaxing and beautiful place would have been wonderful… cross fingers you can get there one day in the not too distant future.
Thanks so much, Gerrie. I’m sure it won’t be too long. Hopefully in the new year. 🙂
It’s nice to still have lovely adventures to look forward to at the end of all this.
Thanks, Carol. Yes, we look forward to future adventures. 🙂
That wanderlust is all the incentive we need to ensure we stay safe now so that we can explore new places and revisit old favourites when it’s safe again “out there”
So true, Dries. Thanks for your encouraging comment. 🙂
So many things out on hold. But hopefully we will be able to travel again in the future, maybe not for a while though.
Thanks, Jude. This too shall pass. 🙂
Ah, Sylvia – “where” is a profound word for our current reality, for it asks the questions of where we are and where we want to be. A lighthouse is a profound symbol of hope, of courage, of determination. In the darkest hour, we look for the light. And you are one of those lights in my life. Hugs! “A lighthouse doesn’t save the ships; it doesn’t go out and rescue them, it’s just this pillar that helps to guide people home.” Lea Michele
What a perfect lighthouse quote, dear Rebecca. Thank you always for your thoughtful and encouraging comments. Hugs to you, xx
Sunday is almost over, so I will wish you a pleasant week ahead, Sylvia! 🙂
Thanks, Lavinia. The week is going well. 🙂
Looks like your world is quite beautiful Sylvia! Hoping we are able to take better advantage of such things very soon.
Thanks so much, Tina. We’ll get there eventually. 🙂
Yep. Isolation would have to end soon, as life is not worth living (for me) without being on a continuous worldwide adventure.
I’m with you, Liesbet. As much as I don’t particularly enjoy the airport/plane journey aspect, I love to be on the move. It’s been too long since we saw our family .
That too. Going on two years since I saw my family and friends in Belgium… Won’t probably happen this summer either.
I’m glad you at least have the beautiful photos and fond memories. You’ll be traveling soon. Our nation wasn’t built to stay in isolation for ever. I love that lighthouse! ❤
Thanks so much for your encouraging words, Jill. xx
❤
Wiwh with you it will be soon
Thanks, Marylou. 🙂
I miss the sea, so it’s good to see this.
Thanks, Anabel. I too miss the sea. Sometimes I wish we still lived there. 🙂
So many dreams on hold. Such beautiful memories and we will hope for a future where we feel confident and safe to travel.
Thanks, Sue. We live in hope. 🙂
Lovely and thanks for the little diddy 🙂
Thanks, Dawn. Glad you enjoyed the song. 🙂
oh i remember this beautiful lighthouse! can’t wait to travel again, Sylvia. and of course i want to be by the sea! love the video song 🙂 happy Sunday! 🥰
Thanks, dear Lola. 🙂
Is this in Umhlanga Sylvia?
Yes, it is and we were planning to be there this month for my sister’s 70th Birthday. 😢
So sad Sylvia! Hope things will change soon!
Alles sal reg kom. 🙂
👍 Glo ook so
I too dream of the travel days despite being content and blessed where I am. For now, I’ll enjoy getting away to the beach right here. Thanks for that, Sylvia.
ianet
Thanks, Janet. I too am content and blessed where I am but I’m getting itchy feet.
Me too, but I try not to think about it too much.
So glad I have a garden and a neighbourhood where I can walk because I have no idea when we will be able to travel again. I try to not think of it.
Me too, Cynthia. It’s no big deal really, but my sister’s 70th was going to be a special family celebration.
I hear you. Sorry about that.
A beautiful spot – I always love to see a lighthouse. Thanks for sheering us up
Thanks, Debbie. 🙂
I’ve started wondering about that as well. It could be a while, and it will take airlines time to recover, but we’ll be travelling again.
Happy Sunday to you, too. 🙂
Thanks, Lynette. To quote one of my favourite Afrikaans phrases, “Alles sal reg kom.” ~ Everything will come right, 🙂
Beautiful lighthouse.
I’ll get back there again one day. 😃
