When I saw Debbie’s ‘One Word’ for this Sunday, ‘Body’, I immediately thought of a body of water. I have many photos which show a body of water, but this one is quite unique in that it also shows a very fit human body in the foreground. On one of our walks along the beachfront in Umhlanga, we happened upon this athletic body who was “just cooling down” after his three-mile morning run. He very kindly agreed to make an extra effort and repeat the performance so that I could get a photo. He told me that he was now fifty-years-old and at one time an Olympic gymnast. He kept fit by not eating junk food and exercising regularly. Some of you may have seen this on my blog a few years ago, but it’s definitely worth a second look.

I hope you’re all having a happy and healthy Sunday.

That was so lovely of the guy to give you a repeat performance so you can get a photo. And you certainly got the shot. He does sound and look very fit – and worked hard for it ๐
Cool photo. Anything but the sea intrigues me.
Hope you and yourts are well.

Thanks and good to see you again, Drew. So glad to read that you’re doing well after your heart surgery.
Yeah, everything is great. Thank you. I will be around. Take care.

Thanks so much, Yvette. Yes, some photos deserve a second time around. ๐

That is just amazing!
I was most impressed. ๐
I would have been too๐
Such strength to hold the body like that!
Yes, I canโt imagine being able to do that. Great muscle control.
I remember that shot!
Amazing then . . . still amazing now.
Thanks, Nancy. I hope heโs still keeping as fit.
Good golly! Don’t know what to make of this guy. Such a skill, but one that wouldn’t come in handy very often, I suppose.
Well, itโs certainly a good party trick. ๐
Goodness – he must be strong!
I think you may be correct in your surmise, Elaine. ๐
Now this is the inspiration I need at the start of a new year! Thanks, Sylvia!
You’re very welcome, Dries. Always happy to oblige. ๐
Most definitely worth a second look! OOps, looks like someone beat me to saying that! Still true nevertheless! Hope you’re doing well. I’m just barely managing to dig myself out from under the dark, brooding skies of the past 4 years, with the last few months being the worst! Hopefully we’ll manage to recover.
Hope you and your family are all doing well and staying healthy!
Thanks, Gunta. I know how you feel about the past four years, but at least we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it’s not the headlamps of an oncoming train in another four years. ๐ฏ I’ll feel better when we can get the vaccine and a couple of air tickets to see family and friends in the UK and South Africa.Take good care my friend. We got this far. ๐ xxx
Wow, what a great photo Sylvia …the human body can do wonderful things…and maybe the magical water and ships were inspiring.
Thanks, Gerrie. I think the ocean is always inspiring.
Excellent photo of an awesome effort!! I thought of “body” of water but as you know, didn’t go that way. I also thought of doing a photo of all the books of one of the authors I like as a “body” of work, but thought both those might require explanation and I always try to stick with the one word (not that I’m criticizing you for your explanation, I hasten to add!) ๐
janet
Thanks. Janet. Yes, there are many possible ways to interpret the theme.
a double take on the prompt, Sylvia. lovely ๐
Thanks so much, Lola.
Wow! Now that is one fit body and at 50 years old. Very inspiring!
Thanks, Sue. I was impressed too.
Wow! I too thought f a body of water, but mine (posting tomorrow) is QUITE different. I daresay no one will repeat this look! lol Good job Sylvia ๐

Snow in the forecast for us, too, Mary Jo! Keep warm.
I feel exhausted just thinking of a three-mile morning run, never mind the cool down. This is a FABULOUS photo, Sylvia. I am imagining being on he beach with you, feeling the sunshine and warmth. Ahhhhh…..
Thanks so much, dear Rebecca. Sometimes you just get lucky with a photo. This was one of those moments. xxx ๐
I think I remember this, Sylvia! LOL! That’s amazing. โค
