One Word Sunday: Time

Debbie’s ‘One Word Sunday-Time’ brought to mind this joyous photo taken almost ten years ago in Florence. A smiling young man being carried by friends through the streets on the way to his wedding. I think it could be captioned ‘A Time To Celebrate’. I hope that as time has gone by, he and his wife are still happily married and looking forward to celebrating their tenth anniversary in October. How time flies!

    • Thanks, Janet. It really was a wonderful sight to see as we were walking after breakfast. I’m sure he knew that his mates were strong enough to bear him safely to his destination. They’d be in big trouble with his bride if they dropped him on the way. πŸ˜…

  1. A brilliant photo for β€œTIME” – you bring love, friendship, celebration and commitment together. What I love most about photography is the ability to stop time – to crystallize a moment that will be forever held tight in a snapshot. I just read that Canada is allowing travel back to Italy in the coming week. How wonderful it feels to have the world open up! Sending hugs!

    • Thanks so much, Rebecca. You’re so right about photos having the ability to freeze a moment in time, to be enjoyed forever. Great news about your lifted travel restrictions. So exciting to be able to make plans. πŸ‘―πŸ€—

  2. Time… a thing I struggle with these days. There never seems to be enough, while it drags along at other times. Love your photo. I suspect that we all could use a bit of that exuberance at this time!

    • So true, Gunta. Time isn’t always on our side, so we must savor every minute even on days when it seems to drag. When I have time on my hands, I play my piano or read. I don’t get to the blogs as much as I used to .

      • My blogging seems to have slowed down as well (in case you hadn’t noticed!) Reading is one of my favorite escapes, too. Watching the antics of the wildlife around us is another. But we’re lucky to have met such good friends along the way…
If all else fails, there’s traveling back in time through photos of happier times! πŸ€—
