One Word Sunday: Diagonal

Debbie’s ‘One Word Sunday-Diagonal’ reminded me of this photo which I’ve shared before. I think that it’s a “once seen never forgotten” kind of image. We happened upon this scene after a beach walk when we were still living in Umhlanga South Africa. I asked if he could please do it again so that I could take a photo and after a bit of hesitation he agreed, saying that he’d just been for a long run and this was how he cooled off. He was a former Olympic gymnast and even at 50-years-old, hadn’t lost his muscle tone and strength.

If you have anything ‘diagonal’ to share, just click the link.

Wishing you all a splendid week ahead.

  1. Definitely worth a replay! I can’t imagine the strength and whatever it takes to do something like that!!!! πŸ™πŸ’ž

  2. This photo is truly worth a few shares, S, and perfect for diagonal!
What a good sport to agree to a photo –
I recently asked a boxer if I could capture him hitting the punching bag and he said yes!
Pretty cool when folks are open

  3. You are absolutely right, Sylvia. That photo has stayed in my memory since your first posted this post. As soon as I saw it in my reading this morning, I knew it would be yours even before I looked at the title. Serendipity!! You arrived just at the right time to capture this remarkable moment.

  4. When we were sitting on an island tour bus during our recent Caribbean cruise, I watched in amazement as a young man was doing the most incredible exercises on a park installment of pipes. He did the exact same thing…unbelievable.
