A more recent photo taken on a trip to Key West for our 53rd wedding anniversary in December 2019.
I enjoy writing about absolutely anything, and started blogging with WordPress in 2012. This was my ‘Hammock Lady’ blog, and I really enjoyed sharing my travels here: http://adinparadise.wordpress.com/
In November 2013, I decided it was time for a change of scenery, so I started my blog afresh, and here it is.
I love to travel, and have been fortunate enough to do two round-the-world trips and visit more than forty countries so far.
I was born and brought up in England, and my husband and I emigrated to South Africa in 1970. We now live for most of the year in Florida, USA. I have a son and a daughter and five gorgeous grandchildren, currently aged between 9 and 24 years.
I’m so happy that you’ve taken the time to visit my blog, and would love for you to join me on my travels.
Sylvia.
Wonderful to meet you, and thank YOU for also taking the time to visit my blog.. Much appreciated.. π
Thank you so much, Sue. I’ve seen you around in the comments, and finally made it over to your blog. π
And I’m so pleased you did. ππ I may not always get to every post but I do try to catch up π
Lovely introduction. have been thinking of redoing my introdcution page as well.
Thanks, Drew. π

I love your blog. Your stories make me happy
Thank you. π
I have a question about the ‘Theme’ you are using. What is the name of it?
Thanks for your question, Ronald. I’m sorry to say that I have absolutely no idea. π
Just found your blog. Really enjoying it so far
Thank you. π
Wow! You have a great site! Will follow! Cheers!
John and Susan
Thanks so much. π
Oh, how I love the blogs! Because I’ve finally found one of my favourite blogs and my blogging friend AD, I lost contact with during my blog move. π
Hi Sylvia! My name is Khaya, but you might remember me as Cocoaupnorth. Thank you for liking my comment at Ally’s blog, because now I’ve found you. Hope to catch up with your part of the world soon…<3
Great to see you again! I lost touch with your blog a while ago and assumed you were just too busy to keep blogging. Hope all is well with you. xx
I invited you to join in the THREE day quote challenge β no pressure to accept β but if I donβt let you know, you might not notice the invite. It is from karen (book blogger) and the only rules are to post 3 quotes for 3 days (not even right in a row) and then invite other bloggers to join (or all of your followers generically)
but no pressureβ¦
Thanks, Aletta. I think I’ll have to pass on this one as I’m a bit too busy to do challenges. xx
No problem! π
Hello Sylvia! Thanks for liking my Funny Bunny post. Which of course brought me to your lovely blog. I live in Sydney, Australia. Cheers π Irina
I really enjoyed it.
Thanks so much for saying so.
