Pull Up A Seat Week 32: Travel Memories.

Not much travelling going on at the moment, but it’s good to look back on happy times.

Here’s my Mom-in-law eight years ago, when she was only ninety-nine. On our walk around Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey, we sat down for a rest on this beautifully chainsaw-carved owl bench.

Last year, whilst in Key West, we visited the Butterfly Conservatory, where there was of course, a butterfly bench. I think it was designed for decoration rather than comfort.

Not far away, was Ernest Hemingway’s  house and museum. He was a great cat lover and everywhere we looked there were cats lazing around, most of them polydactyl, which means that they have six or more toes on each paw.

Silent Sunday: A Close Encounter

A beautiful Blue Morpho butterfly came to check the time on hubby’s watch. It stayed attached for quite a while until it decided it was time to take off again.

Wishing you all a happy last Sunday of the year.

Pull Up A Seat In Key West

XingfuMama’s ‘ Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ is now in its 42nd week.

Last week I shared a couple of life-like sculptures seen in a park in Key West. This week I have more seats seen and photographed in this southernmost point in the US.

We had very comfy seats on our hotel balcony, after inexplicably being upgraded to the honeymoon suite. We weren’t complaining of course.

This beautiful hammock seat was on sale, but unfortunately a bit too big to fit into our car.

Walking down Duval Street, I noticed a bicycle seat with its improvised waterproof cover.

The garden of Ernest Hemingway’s house had a not so comfortable-looking seat next to the pool.

In the drawing room, one of the many resident cats had found a prime spot on a velvet couch displaying a notice telling visitors to please not sit there.

At the end of a very busy day, the grandchildren and their two friends were happy to have a seat on the kerb and enjoy some ice cream.

Pull Up A Seat In The Park

XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ is now at week 41 and still going strong.

Four years ago we were in Key West, when on our way to see the lighthouse, we spied these very life-like sculptures through the fence surrounding a small park. I really had to look twice to make sure that they weren’t real people.

A mother and daughter were enjoying an afternoon picnic, when it would appear that something caught their attention.

Maybe they were waiting for grandma to stop rummaging around in her purse and come over to join them.
