Pull Up A Seat At The Beach

XingfuMama’s ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ is now in its 43rd week and I’m really enjoying taking part in it.

I’ve chosen a few seats at the beach for this week. On a trip back home from Key West, we stopped for lunch at a beach restaurant in Islamarada. The grandchildren had fun playing on this swinging seat. Little Max swung it so hard that we had to rescue the salt and pepper pots.

These shady seats on the beach there also looked very inviting.

Back in Umhlanga, South Africa, a couple were enjoying sitting on one of the many benches, watching the waves and a lone fisherman.

Further along that same promenade, this guy didn’t look terribly comfortable lying on a hard wooden bench. Maybe he was working his abs.

Here’s a very rustic picnic spot on the beach in Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica.

Our resort in Phuket had a lovely balcony with seats and umbrellas overlooking the beach.

Pull Up A Seat At The Beach

Time for another ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’ from XingfuMama. This week, let’s go to the beach and get some sand between our toes.

When we arrived at the Isle Of Palms ‘Wild Dunes’ resort near Charleston, where we were to stay the night on our drive from New Jersey to Florida, there was not a single person to be seen on the beach. In fact, the whole place seemed deserted.

The beach in Phuket which had been hit by a Tsunami just two years before our visit seemed just as unpopular.

In Umhlanga Rocks, things were a lot more lively as many spectators took a seat on the grass as well as on benches to view the annual Red Bull surfing competition.

Further along the beach, the rocks provided improvised seating for holiday makers.

What a great place to sit for a few hours, quietly reading or just watching the waves.

It seems that everyone loves to be at the beach.

It’s the most relaxing place to sit and do absolutely nothing.

I’m looking forward to going back there at the end of May.

Hope your Sunday is also very relaxing. If you would like to join in the ‘Pull Up A Seat Challenge’, just click the link.

A Photo A Week Challenge: Colourful

Nancy Merrill challenges us to post something really colourful for her ‘Photo A Week Challenge’.

I think this beautiful Monarch butterfly seen one day on my walk back down the path from the gym, qualifies.

We can post more than one photo, so I found a couple more from my travels. This is me in Phuket. The guy hanging free with his legs around my waist?…………Well, I never did get his name, but he brought me safely down again. What was I thinking? 😯

Not quite as adrenalin-pumping as the above experience, but exciting in its own way, is this colourful display of shoes in a New York store. Unfortunately, nothing I liked in my size.

Of course, sunsets are always good for a bit of colour and this one in Costa Rica was no exception.
