Feathers on Friday: Small Egret Watching

Here’s our Small Egret sitting in Mr. GBH’s favourite spot. Either he’s feeling very brave, or someone has told him that ‘The Boss’ has gone away for a long weekend.

I’m linking this to Charlotte’s ‘Feathers on Friday’ challenge. My friend Anna Of ‘Una Vista Di San Fermo’ blog has re-nominated me to do the 7 Days of Nature Challenge. If any of you nature lovers would also like to also join in, please do.

Wishing you all a splendid weekend. Our friend Leah and her husband have kindly invited hubby and I to share their Passover Dinner this evening. I’m really looking forward to a brand new experience.

My Sunday Photo: On Look-Out Duty

Mr. GBH is always on the alert, and on those stilt-like legs from this vantage point, I guess he has a very good view of everything that’s going on in the neighbourhood.

I’m also linking this to Nancy’s ‘Photo a Week Challenge’ as her topic for this week is ‘Birds’.

Wishing you all a splendid Sunday. Tonight we’re looking forward to meeting friends at the club for the monthly ‘Sunday Buffet Dinner Extravaganza’ which is always a delicious occasion.

This is my final entry for the ‘7-Day Nature Challenge’ which my blog friend Gilly nominated me to take part in. It’s been a lot of fun and the theme was right up my street. If you would like to join in, then consider yourself nominated by me. The rules are simple;  just post a nature photo for seven days and link your post to my blog. You can nominate another blogger each day to also take up the challenge.

Garden Photography Challenge: A Dainty Neighbour

Jude’s April Garden Photography Challenge calls for Macro photography or close-ups of anything you’d find in a garden. I’m usually rubbish at macros, but after many attempts, I did manage to snap this pretty Dragonfly. It’s called a ‘Halloween Pennant’, and I’m sure you can see why.

Thursday’s Special: Forbidding Guppy Face

For this week’s Thursday’s Special, Paula is looking for images which are ‘Forbidding’. I always find fish’s faces rather creepy. Hubby goes scuba diving and really enjoys close encounters with these creatures, but  I think I’ll rather hug dry land.  If I came face to face with something like this, I think I would forget to breathe and would probably end up in ‘Davy Jones’ Locker’. I took this photo at a local aquarium, and edited it to B&W for a more forbidding effect.

Floating Clouds for Day 4 of the 7 Day Nature Photo Challenge.

How sweet to be a Cloud
Floating in the Blue
It makes him very proud
To be a little cloud.

A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

There were lots of white, fluffy, floating clouds at the Wacodahatchee Wetlands, one of our local nature reserves. A beautiful natural phenomenon.

Mr. GBH poses nicely for the 7 Day Nature Challenge

My blog friend Gilly has invited me to join in the ‘7 -Day Nature Photo Challenge’, and yesterday when I went out to see what I could find for day # 3,  I was happy to see Mr. GBH surveying the lake from his favourite branch. Such an elegant stance, I’m sure you’ll agree.

It’s becoming difficult to find someone to nominate for the challenge, as so many of you have been nabbed already, so please feel free to join in if you have a mind to.

I’m also linking this post to Jude’s ‘March Wildlife In The Garden Challenge’ which changes its theme from 1st April.

We have a lovely rainy Wednesday here in Florida. Hope you all have a great day.
