I think these miscellaneous items for sale had been placed on this rough bench to keep them tidy. Is there anything that takes your fancy?
I rather liked the cosy couple on the small bench off to the left, although I’m not sure what the one woman is holding. Looks like mussel or oyster shell to me.
I still haven’t run out of pictures for Jude’s Bench Series #41, so you’ll be seeing more before this month is up.
Wishing you all a great weekend. I’m off to have a look at our new front door which is being installed today.
Yes ’tis I, disguised underneath all the layers of clothing. This bench photo was taken in May 2010 whilst waiting for Old Faithful, America’s most famous geyser, to spring into action. As you can see, Spring hadn’t happened yet in Yellowstone National Park. It was bitterly cold with an icy wind blowing.
We were impatiently waiting for the promised spectacular spurt of steam which can shoot from 3,700 to 8,400 US gallons of boiling water into the air. Old Faithful, one of the most predictable geographical features on earth, erupts roughly every 90 minutes, with the jet of steam rising from 106-185 feet, and lasting anything from 1-5 minutes. I was pacing up and down trying to keep warm, but I think the woman on the bench must have been frozen solid.
Do you have any photos of benches with someone or something on them, for Jude’s Bench Series #41?
These charming sculptures were spotted through the fence surrounding the small park below the Key West lighthouse. I really had to look twice to make sure that they weren’t real people. Unfortunately the gate was locked, so we couldn’t get in to have a closer look.
A mother and daughter were enjoying an afternoon picnic in the park, when something caught their attention.
Maybe they were waiting for grandma to stop searching around in her purse and come over to join them.
Jude’s Bench Series #41 is going to get quite a few entries from me this month. Do you have any photos of benches with something or someone on them?
Jude’s Bench Series for this month is a bench with someone or something sitting on it. I’ve been thinking about my Mom such a lot today, and just found this photo taken on her birthday in 2013. This was the last time she was able to come down to stay with us in our house at the beach in Umhlanga. We sat on this bench for a long time, just watching the waves together. It’s good to remember the happy times.
