Is This The Same Guy?

This morning when I looked out of my window, I noticed one particular pelican sitting up in the trees and thought he looked rather familiar. I went in search of a painting I did a few years ago when I started taking art classes.

It was lurking in the back of my hall closet and sure enough, there he was.  He looks younger and a bit unfinished, but unmistakable don’t you think?

Happy Wednesday to you all.

Grandpa Igasho is looking a bit dishevelled and rather concerned as he keeps a watch out for human predators from his safe perch high up in the trees. His New Year resolution is to always stay one step ahead of the opposition because you never know what their next move will be.

Last up but most important, Perry and Penny pelican say, “Whatever the question, always remember that love is the answer.”

Feathers On Friday: Mr. Peli Just Flew In

Mr Peli has just arrived to check out the lodging conditions for the winter season and I’m sure his friends aren’t far behind.

Looks like Grandpa Igasho will have to share his tree for a while. I hope they get along together.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Feathers On Friday: Perry and Penny Get Together.

The pelicans have been rather tardy in making an appearance here this winter, but a few days ago I spotted this pair from my kitchen window.

Penny was looking down from her perch and cooing in her sultry ‘Mae West’ voice to her friend Perry ” Hey Handsome, why don’t you come up and see me sometime?”

Perry, who had been hoping for an invitation from the beautiful lady upstairs, was in the process of preening himself.

It didn’t take very long for him to accept her kind invite and soon the two of them were well on their way to becoming BFWB.

Another Mae West quote which I really love, is, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

Wishing you all a very happy and relaxing weekend.

Feathers On Friday: Pelis in my backyard

´This morning Pelegrino and Pelecia went for a turn around the lake.

They started off at a respectable distance from one another, but soon got a bit bolder and moved in for a tête-à-tête and maybe a quick kiss.

Suddenly they were startled by a call from the trees. “Hey you two, cut it out! No canoodling allowed. You’re much too young to get serious.. ”

They got such a fright that they both took off in great haste and spoiled my photo shoot.

Ah well, as Shakespeare once said, “The course of true love, never did run smooth.”

Wishing you all a great weekend.
