Friday Feathers: Just Pecking A Hole In Your Palm Tree

Woody woodpecker has been seen on numerous occasions, clinging to the trunk of one of our palm trees. Usually he flies away before his photo shoot, but yesterday he was too busy to notice he was being spied on. That’s quite a sizeable hole already. I hope he intends making his home there and raising a family.

Last year, one of our neighbours across the lake told hubby that he became so irritated by the rat-a-tat-tat of a woodpecker incessantly pecking at a tree in his backyard, that he had the tree chopped down. I don’t know about you, but that’s what I would definitely call overkill. I felt sorry for the palm tree as well as the woodpecker.

Happy weekend to you all.
